Samsung devices to replace Google search with Microsoft Bing?

Samsung is considering to replace Alphabet Inc's Google search with Microsoft's Bing in all its smartphone devices, reported New York Times. This would put $3 billion in annual revenue for Google at risk.

With the addition of open AI technologies like ChatGPT, Bing has become more credible. As per reports, negotiations are still going on and a final decision is yet to be made. Currently, Google is working on several projects to update and renew its search services. Google's project Magi that focusses on offering AI features to its existing services, has more than 160 people working.

As per Bloomberg, Samsung shipped 261 million smartphones in 2022, according to IDC data, all running Google’s Android software. The Korean company has long-established partnerships with both Microsoft and Google, and its devices come preloaded with a library of apps and services from both, such as OneDrive and Google Maps.

Google has dominated the search engine space for nearly 25 years now.
