India vs Pakistan: Hotel prices skyrocket in Ahmedabad but clever fans find these alternatives

As the clock ticks down to the much-anticipated India-Pakistan cricket showdown in Ahmedabad on October 14, there's more than just excitement in the air—there's astonishment over the soaring hotel prices!

In the lead-up to this epic match, hotel tariffs in Ahmedabad have shot through the roof, skyrocketing over ten times their normal rates.

Hotel tariffs in Ahmedabad

For instance, the cost of a base category room at a five-star hotel in the city has surged to a whopping Rs 50,000 per night in certain cases. Yes, you read that right! On any regular day, such a luxurious stay would set you back anywhere from Rs 6,500 to 10,500.

But that's not all; even the lap of luxury is not spared from the cricket fever. The prices of opulent hotels in Ahmedabad have leaped from their usual range of Rs 5,000-8,000 per room to an eye-popping Rs 40,000-100,000 in some exclusive spots.

But, for those of us who aren't carrying a vault in our pockets, there's a clever way out. The smart ones have begun booking hospital rooms! Meanwhile, some are looking for Uber Luxury Campers. Let's take a look:

Airbnb offers
As of the current moment, a quick search on Airbnb reveals abundant room options for the upcoming match day. The header highlights 173 places available in Ahmedabad. Some notable options include a 'modern room in a Food Forward flat with 2 beds' offered by a female writer for ₹11,298, a private room with a bathroom at ₹5,706, and a bed in a 'House of Kids' for ₹6,847 per night. Notably, a critical care doctor is offering an 8-bedroom property with 20 beds for ₹17,599, with the property photograph featuring the signboard of a Children’s Hospital.

Booking Hospital Beds to Enjoy the Cricket: The availability of an 8-bedroom hospital ad underscores the stories circulating about cricket enthusiasts reserving hospital rooms. Their excuse? A full body-checkup typically requires an overnight stay in the hospital. This might sound unusual, but an Airbnb listing even includes photographs of gurneys being offered for ₹10,399 per night.

Lucky Cricket Fans Enjoy Free Uber Luxury Campers: For those who can conjure up witty slogans or expressions of support for Team India, a fantastic opportunity awaits. They can stay for free in a luxurious Uber camper on the night of the India-Pakistan match in Ahmedabad.

This is part of Uber's limited social media campaign where fortunate winners get to stay in the Uber camper without any charges. To participate, all you need to do is post your pictures holding a placard with your plans to support Team India. Tag up to three friends or family members who will also be attending the India vs. Pakistan match in Ahmedabad, and include @UberIndia. The contest closes on October 7, and the winners will be announced the following day."
