Here's why Elon Musk apologised to Piyush Goyal after his visit to Tesla factory

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had apologised to Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal as he did not accompany the minister during his visit to Tesla factory in California.

Elon Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted that it was an honour to have Goyal visit the Tesla factory and apologised for not being able to travel to California. He also expressed his hope of meeting him in future.

Piyush Goyal on Tesla

Piyush Goyal visited Tesla factory as part of the four days visit to US to attend the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Ministerial Meeting and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

While speaking about India's role in Tesla's growth, he lauded the crucial role played by Indian engineers and finance professionals who are in senior positions in the company. He also reiterated that Tesla is in track to double its component imports from India.

This also comes at a time when there has been speculations of the Indian government granting tax concessions to Tesla for setting up electric vehicle manufacturing company in India.
