Elon Musk and his tryst with Twitter!

Tesla Chief Elon Musk has bought a 9.2% passive stake in social media giant Twitter, resulting in a 26% jump in its shares.

Elon Musk and his tryst with Twitter!

Elon Musk and his love for Twitter is not something new! Hours after the news circulated about the world's richest person buying a major stake in the micro-blogging website, here we see another Twitter poll.

As Musk becomes the top shareholder in Twitter with a 9.2% stake, he asks via a Twitter poll if the users want an edit button. This is not the first time the world has seen Elon Musk doing a Twitter poll for an important event.

Well, Twitter itself posted on April 1 that the company was working on an edit button. Read it again. It was on April 1. Possibly, Musk took it seriously! Even Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal had to caution the users as he tweeted saying, "The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully."

"Do you want an edit button?" Musk wrote with options of "yse" and "on". The poll got more than 1.2 million votes with 75% of the users going with the 'yse' option.

A few days back, on March 25, Elon Musk posted a Twitter poll that might have something to do with him buying a significant stake in Twitter. "Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?" Musk tweeted, adding that "The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully."

This is not something new, Elon Musk has been doing Twitter polls before making any big decisions. And his polls are no joke.

Last year, when the billionaire was under scrutiny for his tax contributions, he took to Twitter, doing a poll on if he must sell 10% of his Tesla holdings. The poll got over 3.5 million votes and led to him selling his shares. Ultimately, leading to Tesla shares falling by the most in over eight months in November 2021.

Elon Musk Twitter polls shan't be taken lightly!
