Bill Gates admits admiration for Steve Jobs' natural stage presence

Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, recently expressed admiration for Steve Jobs' natural stage presence during an interview on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard.

Gates admitted to feeling envious of Jobs' ability to effortlessly convey ideas, stating that he himself will never attain that level of skill.

Reflecting on their past roles as representatives of Microsoft and Apple, Gates recalled traveling together to promote the benefits of tools like spreadsheets and email to individuals and organizations worldwide.

"We even called it evangelization. Some people might not like that we stole a term of religion, but telling the story of the magic of software is something that - certainly by the time I was in my 30s - was a big part of the job," he said.

In an effort to gain support for public education, global health, and the future of artificial intelligence, the Microsoft co-founder is still emulating Mr Jobs' communication approach today. "A big part of the job I had at Microsoft and the job I have now is explaining what we're up to in a hopefully straightforward way that connects with a particular audience," he said.

Gates further added, "I like trying to explain things and I like getting feedback - what stories resonated or what didn't connect."
