Apple delays return to office indefinitely, gives $1000 bonus for WFH flexibility

The world's largest tech company Apple is scrapping it's plan to call employees back to work as Chief Tim Cook sent a memo to employees said “ a new date was yet to be determined.”

Apple had planned to bring corporate workers back by Feb. 1 but a resurgence in Covid-19 cases and a fast-spreading new variant has forced corporates to rethink the end of WFH.

Tim Cook also strongly encouraged employees to receive vaccinations and booster shots, saying “this is by far the best way to keep you and your community safe.

Because employees will need to continue to work from home, Cook said that Apple is giving every corporate employee $1,000 to spend on home office equipment. “These funds are intended to help you with your home workspace and can be used as you see fit. You will be receiving more information about this shortly,” he said.

Apple also told workers that they will get at least four weeks notice before a new back-to-the-office deadline takes effect.
