  • Amazon advanced it's Great Indian Festival sale to the same as rival Flipkart to kickstart on October 3.
  • Flipkart over the weekend made the first move to reschedule its own Big Billion Days sale from October 7 to October 3 to counter Amazon which had initially announced the kick off on October 4.
  • Flipkart will be running its Big Billion Days sale for eight days, instead of six, with the sale closing on October 10 .
  • Amazon has not announced when the sale period will end.

  • Reports indicate that e-commerce firms will clock sales worth $4.8 billion in the first week of festive sales, that is a 30% jump from the $3.7 billion sales registered last year
