More scary videos emerged of the assassination of Japan's former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

A video shot by a spectator standing close to the former premier showed Abe delivering an election speech when he suddenly collapsed. Gunshots rang out causing panic among the spectators.

The camera then swivelled towards security officials who were seen tackling the alleged shooter.
Multiple security personnel were seen pinning the killer on the ground.

He has reportedly been identified as Tetsuya Yamagami, a 41-year-old resident of Nara city, and a former member of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force. He told police that he was "dissatisfied" with Shinzo Abe, as per local media reports.

The alleged shooter was dressed in plain t-shirt and trousers. Alarmed voices could be heard in the background.

Lying a few feet away was what was possibly be the gun used to kill the former premier. Initial reports had suggested that Abe was shot in the back with a shotgun. The object seen in the video is wrapped in what looks like black plastic with 2 barrel-like metallic shapes visible. It is suspected that the shooter made the gun himself, as per Japan's public broadcaster NHK.

Shinzo Abe was shot during a campaign speech ahead of the elections to the Parliament's Upper House on July 10. The incident occurred at around 11:30 am local time in Nara city. Abe reportedly suffered heart failure after being shot, and was declared dead a few hours later.
