In what has been called a rare outburst, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired Kharkiv city's security chief for not fulfilling his responsibilities

In what has been called a rare outburst, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired Kharkiv city's security chief.

Reports say that the man was dismissed by Zelenskyy for 'not working to defend the city from the first days of the full-scale war, but thinking only of himself', while others were engaged in 'effective' selfless service.

The incident took place when Zelenskyy made his first trip to the war-torn east of the country since Moscow's invasion.

Zelenskyy announced the firing of the security chief but did not name the official. Ukrainian media reports have identified him as Roman Dudin, the head of Kharkiv region's SBU security service.
