Ukraine's Zelenskyy Said This About Telegram CEO Pavel Durov's Arrest In France As Kremlin Fumes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an avid user of Telegram, was asked about its CEO Pavel Durov's arrest in France. Kremlin, however, did not take the arrest lightly. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said it was an attempt to crack the encryption codes on the messaging app.

The Russia-born Telegram boss was nabbed by French authorities on August 24. The arrest was connect to allegations that Telegram was a hub for illicit activities like drug trafficking and distribution of child pornography.

The messaging app had become a crucial yet controversial tool for both Russia and Ukraine in their long-drawn war. From political leaders to propagandists, Telegram has been a been a haven for all kinds of updates coming from the war-torn region.
