Taliban ask India to resume commercial flights to Kabul

Taliban's Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has written to Directorate General of Civil Aviation asking India to resume commercial flights to Afghanistan.

The letter is currently under review by Ministry of Civil Aviation, ANI reported.

India had stopped flight operations to Kabul since 15 August when the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Security will be the main concern for India before resuming flights.

Ahead of the deadline for US troops withdrawal, the security at the Kabul airport was breached with the Taliban rapidly surrounding the parameters of the Kabul airport.

An attack also took place outside the airport in which more than 100 people were killed on 26 August.

India is yet to recognise the Taliban government in Afghanistan amid growing concerns over future of the country across the globe.
