On cam: lion bites off man's finger after being teased through fence at Jamaica zoo

In a startling video going viral on social media, a lion is seen biting off a man's finger. The incident reportedly occurred at the Jamaica Zoo.

The zookeeper is seen teasing the lion by touching it through the chain-link fence. The lion is clearly agitated and tries multiple times to bite the zookeeper's hand. Finally, it succeeds and bites down on one of the man's fingers.

The zookeeper is seen struggling hard to escape, but the lion doesn't let go. The scene plays out for many seconds, before the man gets free, but not before losing a part of his finger.

Jamaica Zoo said that the man was a contractor, and the incident does not reflect the safety procedures and policies in force at the facility. The incident is also being investigated.
