Narrow escape: Plane crashes into car during emergency landing on Florida highway | Watch

A small aircraft made an emergency landing on Interstate-95 (I-95) near Orlando, Florida, on Monday evening, colliding with a car during the landing and injuring one person.

The plane attempted to land on the southbound side of I-95 near mile marker 201 in Cocoa when it struck a vehicle, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.

A dashcam video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the aircraft descending onto the freeway and colliding with the Camry. The footage captures the plane landing on top of the vehicle, skidding along the roadway, and eventually coming to a stop.

The aircraft, a fixed-wing, multi-engine Beechcraft 55, had two people on board: a 27-year-old pilot and a 27-year-old passenger. Both remained unharmed, Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.

The car involved was a Toyota Camry driven by a 57-year-old woman, who sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, Fox 13 News reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the pilot had reported engine issues before attempting the emergency landing. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has opened an investigation into the incident.

According to the NTSB, the aircraft had departed from Merritt Island on an instructional flight. Shortly after takeoff, the plane lost power in both engines, forcing the pilot to land on the nearest highway.
