'Murderous and child-killing': Khamenei’s niece urges foreign govts to cut ties with Iranian regime

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s niece Farideh Moradkhani has been reportedly arrested by the regime after calling on foreign governments to cut all ties with the Iranian government, The Guardian reported.

Confirming Moradkhani’s arrest on Twitter, her brother, Mahmoud Moradkhani said she was arrested last week on Wednesday when she went to the prosecutor’s office in response to a court order, it said.

Before Moradkhani was arrested, she allegedly recorded a video statement which was shared by her France-based brother on Friday. In the video Moradkhani had called on people around the world to urge their governments to “stop any dealings with this regime.”

The video is now doing rounds on social media.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Moradkhani has been arrested by Iranian authorities. Before this, she was held in January this year while she was on her way home.

According to multiple reports, Farideh and Mahmoud Moradkhani are the children of Ali Tehrani who was married to the supreme leader’s sister Badri Hosseini Khamenei. He was a cleric and longtime opposition figure.
