Maldives Grants 90-Day Visa-Free Access to Sri Lankans

Colombo, July 30 (PTI): The Maldivian government announced on Wednesday that Sri Lankan nationals visiting the Maldives will now be granted free 90-day visas upon arrival.

This announcement came on the final day of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's three-day visit to Male, the capital of the Maldives.

Sri Lanka has already reciprocated by offering free visas to Maldivian nationals for a duration of one year.

The new visa policy will be effective starting July 29.

"This initiative is a part of the bilateral agreement on visa facilitation between Sri Lanka and the Maldives," stated the office of President Dissanayake.

This visit marks President Dissanayake's first trip to the Maldives since his election last year.
