The Sidharth Malhotra-Ajay Devgn starrer didn't have a great start at the domestic box office. The family comedy, directed by Indra Kumar, earned ₹8.10 crore on its opening day in India. Whereas '<a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/ram-setu-trailer-akshay-kumar-is-on-a-mission-to-save-ram-setu-in-this-action-adventure-film-1665474323433">Ram Setu</a>', starring Akshay Kumar, received a positive response and earned ₹15.25 crore on day one.&nbsp;
This is Akshay&rsquo;s best opening film of 2022 after 'Bachchhan Paandey', 'Samrat Prithviraj' and 'Raksha Bandhan'. His last film 'Cuttputlli' released on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.&nbsp;
According to a report in boxofficeindia.com, 'Ram Setu's opening numbers are the second best for a Hindi original film in 2022, after Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra - Part One: Shiva', which released in theatres on September 9 in Hindi and many other regional languages. The report further states that the mass circuits in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and states in central India are responding well to the film.
'Ram Setu' narrates the story of Dr Aryan Kulshreshtha, an archaeologist, who is on a mission to discover and save Ram Setu in just three days. The Abhishek Sharma directorial also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, as an environmentalist named Dr Sandra, and Nushrrat Bharuccha as Professor Gayatri Kulshrestha, Aryan's wife.&nbsp;
'Thank God' is a story of a self-centered man who finds himself in 'Yamlok' after an accident. he is offered to play a game of life by Lord Chitragupta, played by Ajay Devgn.&nbsp;

'Thank God' makers try to evade controversy, Chitragupt's name changed to CG

There is modification in disclaimer’s content which comes just before the movie

Ajay Devgn and Siddharth Malhotra starrer 'Thank God' is all set to release in theatres on October 25 and the makers are trying their best to stay away from controversy. Ajay Devgn is portarying the role of Chitragupt and his character's name has now changed to CG and Yamdoot&rsquo;s name to YD. Along with this, there were three other changes made in the film before submitting it to the censor board.
According to Hindustan Times, &nbsp;One of the scenes has been modified to blur the logo of the liquor brand, the camera angle in which a temple is showcased has been modified. There is modification in disclaimer&rsquo;s content as well, which comes at the beginning of the film. To make it easier for the audience to look into it and read it, the duration of opening credits has increased.
Ahead of its release, the movie has faced a lot of backlash from a section of netizens, who objected the use of Chitragupta&rsquo;s name in the movie. In Hindu mythology, Chitragupta is the deity of records and accounts, as it has been shown in the film as well. It seems that the makers are trying to evade controversy and take a safer route. A plea was filed in the Supreme Court to stay the release of the film. The apex court refused to list it on urgent notice and the matter will be heard on November 21.
'Thank God' also stars Rakul Preet Singh in a pivotal role. The film will clash at the box office with Akshay Kumar&rsquo;s action adventure film 'Ram Setu'.

The fantasy-comedy film stars Sidharth Malhotra, Ajay Devgn, and Rakul Preet Singh. The Indra Kumar directorial shows how an egoistic real estate broker, who is in huge debts, meets with an accident.
After gaining consciousness, he realizes that he is in heaven. Lord Chitragupt then appears in front of him and offers to play a &lsquo;game of life&rsquo; with him. He is made to realize that he has been leading his life filled with anger, jealousy, delusion and lust.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 25, 2022.
'Ram Setu'
Starring Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha, the film is about archaeologist Aryan Kulshrestha&rsquo;s mission to discover and save Ram Setu in just three days. He must do so before the evil forces destroy the pillar of India's heritage. The Abhishek Sharma directorial will clash at the box office with &lsquo;Thank God&rsquo;.
'Doctor G'
The comedy drama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh, shows the hilarious struggles of Dr. Uday Gupta, who aspired to specialise in Orthopaedic, but is forced to take an all-female class of Gynaecology. This film released in theatres on October 14 and has received a positive response from the audience as well as the critics.
'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva'
The fantasy action-adventure, written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, is inspired from stories in Hindu mythology. It film follows the journey of Shiva, an orphan, who discovers that he has the power to control fire and a connection to a secret society of guardians - Brahmastra. He attempts to prevent the strongest of all astras from falling into the hands of dark forces. The film will reportedly release on Disney+ Hotstar on October 23.
'Laal Singh Chaddha'
Directed by Advait Chandan, this comedy drama stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles. This film is adapted from Oscar winning Hollywood film &lsquo;Forrest Gump&rsquo; starring Tom Hanks. It narrates the extraordinary journey of a simple man with a disability. He meets many friends along the way as he achieves various milestones in life. The film is now streaming on Netflix.
'Kantara'
This action thriller, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, released in theatres on September and has been receiving amazing reviews. It stars Shetty as a Kambala champion, who clashes with Murali, an upright DRFO officer.

SC refuses urgent hearing of plea against release of Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra's ‘Thank God’

According to the petitioner, 'Thank God' is spreading wrong, derogatory messages against Lord Chitragupta.

A huge relief for Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer &lsquo;Thank God&rsquo;. The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined an urgent hearing of a plea against the film, which is scheduled to release in theatres on October 25. The court will now hear the case on November 21.
Shri Chitragupta Welfare Trust had filed a petition, demanding the removal of film&rsquo;s trailers and posters from YouTube and other electronic platforms. It also requested the court to stop the release of the Indra Kumar directorial in theatres or on OTT platforms.
According to Live Law report, the petition alleged that movie&rsquo;s release will be in violation of Articles 14 and 25 of the Constitution along with Section 5B of the Cinematograph Act. &lsquo;The present Petition arises out of and against derogatory expressions, acts, statements, dialogues and insulting images, videos in and around the character of God Chitragupta played by Bollywood Actor, Ajay Devgan/Respondent No. 4 which is evident from the release of the trailer of the Bollywood movie '<a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/thank-god-trailer-out-chitragupt-ajay-devgn-is-here-to-play-game-of-life-with-sidharth-malhotra-1662710849888">Thank God</a>',&rsquo; it stated.
According to the petitioner, the movie is spreading wrong, derogatory messages against Lord Chitragupta.
The Central Board of Film Certification, director of the movie Inder Kumar, its producer Bhushan Kumar and actor Ajay Devgn have reportedly been made parties to the plea by the petitioner.

Film ‘Thank God’ has gotten into serious trouble. The complaint against the movie says that it mocks religion and is hurtful to religious sentiments. A case has been filed against the film cast involved in the act that includes Ajay Devgn and Siddharth Malhotra and the director of the film Indra Kumar by lawyer Himanshu Srivastava.  
The complaint also states that Chitragupt, portrayed in the film by Ajay Devgn is shown using objectionable language. In one of the scenes, he is seen cracking jokes showing a bad portrayal of the religious figure Chitragupta. 
‘Chitragupta is regarded as the Lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man's good and bad deeds. Such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation since it hurts religious sentiments,’ says the petition. The petitioner's statement will be recorded on November 18.  
The film is scheduled to release on October 24.

 The film is directed by Indra Kumar and also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh in pivotal roles. I just happened to see the film about two weeks back and I walked out with the feeling that we really wanted the audience to go through (it). It touches your heart, and it's like a Munnabhai-(MBBS)-meets-Oh-My-God space; not that it's got anything to do with that but that's the space. I think it's entertaining and I think people will hopefully go to the theaters to watch it.’

Ajay Devgn shared the first poster of 'Thank God' on Instagram and introduced himself as Chitragupt. The movie will release on October 25.

Ajay Devgn will be seen in an all-new avatar in his upcoming movie 'Thank God', co-starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh. The actor took to Instagram on Thursday and shared the first poster of the film in which he is seen in a royal look, dressed in a black three-piece suit sitting on a golden throne.
Sharing the post, Ajay announced that the film will release this Diwali. &lsquo;This Diwali, Chitragupt is coming to play the game of life with you and your family. #ThankGod trailer out tomorrow. In cinemas on October 25,' he wrote.&nbsp;&nbsp;
