Zerodha's founder Nithin Kamath took to X (formerly Twitter) and revealed that he suffered a "mild stroke" 6 weeks back. In the post, Kamath suggested a combination of factors like his father's death, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overworking out as a possible cause for the attack.
&ldquo;Around 6 weeks ago, I had a mild stroke out of the blue. Dad passing away, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overworking out &mdash;any of these could be possible reasons," Kamath said in his X post
<h3>Kamath suffered stroke</h3>
Sharing his experiences, Kamath said that his face had a big droop and he was unable to read or write. However, the droop has improved and he has been able to write and read now.&nbsp;

The billionaire entrepreneur expressed that he anticipates a full recovery within 3-6 months.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I've gone from having a big droop in the face and not being able to read or write to having a slight droop but being able to read and write more. From being absent-minded to more present-minded. So, 3 to 6 months for full recovery," he added.

&ldquo;I wondered why a person who's fit and takes care of himself could be affected. The doctor said you need to know when you need to shift the gears down a bit. Slightly broken, but still getting my treadmill count", the post read.

A new study conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has suggested that an increased heart rate while exercising too hard can lead to a stroke in people with blocked carotid arteries. &nbsp;
Carotid arteries are located on both sides of the neck and provide blood flow to the face and the brain.
Published in the journal Physics of Fluid, the team found that nearly 16.5 million (5 per cent) Americans are at risk of carotid artery stenosis. People who smoke, or are obese and follow a sedentary lifestyle are more likely to suffer from the condition.&nbsp;
As per the American Stroke Association, stroke is a leading cause of death among Americans but can be prevented.&nbsp;
Researchers concluded that vigorous exercises may be beneficial for improving the cardiac performance of healthy individuals, however, it may have adverse consequences for patients having arterial blockages.

Recently, a survey by LocalCircles found that the percentage of sudden ailments or complications rose from 31% to 51% within a year.&nbsp;
The study also found that 61% of the people in their close network experiencing severe medical conditions have been affected by the coronavirus once or more than that while 28% said that their contacts who suffered a stroke or heart attack did not have Covid.&nbsp;
The survey received 32,000 responses from people located in 357 districts of India.&nbsp;

AIIMS neurologist, Professor M. V. Padma Srivastava, recently revealed that stroke is the second leading cause of death in India, claiming one life every 4 minutes.&nbsp;
Approximately 185,000 strokes occur annually in India and the risk is greater among younger and middle-aged people.&nbsp;
Furthermore, as per the Global Burden of Diseases (GBD) report, India has a 68.6 per cent incidence of stroke, 70.9 per cent stroke deaths and 77.7 disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) lost.

For the study, researchers analysed data of nearly 3,60,000 UK adults for 11 years. They compared napping habits with blood pressure and stroke risk.
The team found that participants who routinely napped during the day had a 12% higher risk of developing high blood pressure and a 24% increased risk of stroke compared to those who never napped.
Data also suggested that the risk would increase if participants who never napped did so occasionally or if they went from napping sometimes to often.

According to a recent study, young adult women are more likely to suffer from an ischemic stroke compared to men. The study was published in a special edition on the female cardiovascular health of the journal Stroke.

The global study of ischemic stroke, the most common kind,&nbsp;discovered&nbsp;that anger or emotional upset was linked to a&nbsp;nearly&nbsp;30 per cent increase in the risk of stroke during one hour after an episode. These odds were even worse for people with no history of depression and a lower level of education.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Meanwhile,&nbsp;a brief episode of heavy physical exertion&nbsp;was linked to an approximately 60 per cent increase in risk during the&nbsp;one hour after exertion and it was especially high for individuals with prior high cardiovascular risk.

In a new study from the University of Calgary, researchers found that walking for only 30 minutes every day can lower the risk of death in patients who have survived a stroke.
&nbsp;

According to a study published in the journal Neurology, people who walk for at least 3-4 hours or cycle for at least 3 hours a week may have a 54 percent lower risk of death after having suffered a stroke.

For the study, researchers looked at 895 people with an average age of 72 who had suffered a stroke previously and 97,805 people with an average age of 63 who had never had a stroke. They evaluated the average weekly physical activity, its frequency and duration for about four and a half years.
Researchers found the largest reduction in death rate among people who had a previous stroke, but were under 75 years of age.&nbsp;As per the findings, the risk of death was reduced by 80% for people under the age of 75 who met the minimum level of physical activity (half an hour a day). On the other hand, people over 75 who&nbsp;performed the least amount of physical activity saw a smaller advantage but were still 32 percent less likely to die.
