Sameer Wankhede has reacted to ED's money laundering case against him. Speaking to ETimes, the former NCB official said that he will 'give an appropriate reply in court at the appropriate time'. He added, "ED had registered the said ECIR in 2023. It is surprising that this ECIR is based on the CBI FIR, which is already under question before the Bombay HC. Since the matter is subjudice, I don't intend to comment further. I will give the appropriate reply to the court at the appropriate time. I reiterate that I have full faith in the Indian judiciary. Satyamev Jayate."

The ED has registered a money laundering case against Sameer Wankhede. The investigating agency has booked the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Some former NCB officials have also been summoned by the ED.&nbsp;
Sameer, a 2008-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the Customs and Indirect Taxes cadre, has moved the Bombay High Court, seeking protection from any coercive action by the ED.&nbsp;

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, who has been accused of demanding ₹25 crore as a bribe from actor Shah Rukh Khan, claimed on May 22, 2023, that he and his wife Kranti Redkar have been receiving threats, and need special security.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the Bombay High Court extended the interim protection granted to the former head of NCB's Mumbai zone. The court extended the protection from coercive action, such as arrest by CBI, till June 8, 2023.
The judges told Wankhede not to tamper with evidence and not speak to the media about the case.

Wankhede, an Indian Revenue Service official who was posted with the Narcotics Control Bureau here in 2021, has moved the court with a petition seeking to quash the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation against him for alleged extortion and bribery.
A vacation bench of the court passed the order after recording Wankhede's undertaking that he will remain present at the CBI's office in Bandra Kurla Complex here at 11 am on Saturday.
The CBI shall not take any "coercive action" against Wankhede till May 22, the HC said.

The unnamed sources told India Today that the Centre is already taking action in Sameer Wankhede's fake caste certificate case.   NCP leader Nawab Malik had levelled allegations of caste certificate forgery againstWankhede, claiming that he was born a Muslim but forged his caste certificate to get into the civil services using a seat reserved for the Scheduled Castes. However, Wankhede and his family have stated that the allegations were untrue. 
Amid allegations of corruption against Wankhede, the case was transferred from the Mumbai zone to the central team of the NCB. He was removed from the case and a vigilance probe was initiated against him.

The Thane district collector has cancelled the licence granted to a Navi Mumbai-based hotel and bar owned by former NCB Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, officials said on Wednesday.
The license was obtained by misrepresentation and fraud, Collector Rajesh Narvekar said in an order on Tuesday.
A senior Excise official told PTI that his department will now seal the bar and seize the stock.
Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik had in November last year claimed that Wankhede owned a permit room and bar at Vashi in Navi Mumbai, the licence for which was obtained in 1997 when he was a minor, and that this was illegal.
Malik had also said that despite being in a government job, Wankhede held a licence to operate the permit room which was against service rules. Wankhede had then denied the minister's claims.
The state Excise department had subsequently issued a notice to Wankhede in connection with the bar licence obtained by him.
Following his response and examination of the matter, the district collector concluded that Wankhede had obtained the licence on October 27,1997, when he was less than 18 years old, as against the permissible age of 21, an official said.
Section 54 of the Prohibition Act has been invoked for the cancellation of the licence, as per the order.

The assurance came after the high court asked the minister whether he has lodged a complaint with the caste scrutiny committee regarding his allegations against Sameer Wankhede's caste credentials, and said if he has not done so what was his intention behind the "media publicity", which it said does not befit a minister.
The statement on Malik's behalf was made by his counsel after the court said that it was inclined to pass an order restraining the minister from making public comments against the Wankhedes till further hearing.
The bench said that it was apparent that Malik's tweets had stemmed out of malice.
"Why is the minister behaving like this? Why should he behave like this we want to know? This is nothing but malice. Please read the dictionary meaning of malice," the HC said
The bench was hearing an appeal filed by Dnyandev Wankhede, father of Sameer Wankhede, challenging the order of a single bench of the high court that had refused on November 22, to restrain Malik from making defamatory statements against him and his family.

The bench said that it was apparent that Malik's tweets had stemmed out of malice. It also said it also wants to know the reason behind such behaviour by the minister.&nbsp;
The court&nbsp;was hearing an appeal filed by Dnyandev Wankhede, father of Sameer Wankhede, challenging the order of a single bench of the high court that had refused on November 22, to restrain Malik from making defamatory statements against him and his family.

The statement came after the court said that it was inclined to pass an order restraining the minister from making public comments against the Wankhedes till further hearing.

Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik told the Bombay High Court on Thursday that he will not post any tweets or make any public statements against NCB's zonal director Sameer Wankhede, his father or any of their family members till December 9, the next date of hearing.
The assurance came after the high court asked the minister whether he has lodged a complaint with the caste scrutiny committee regarding his allegations against Sameer Wankhede's caste credentials, and said if he has not done so what was his intention behind the "media publicity", which it said does not befit a minister.
The statement on Malik's behalf was made by his counsel after the court said that it was inclined to pass an order restraining the minister from making public comments against the Wankhedes till further hearing.
The bench said that it was apparent that Malik's tweets had stemmed out of malice.
"Why is the minister behaving like this? Why should he behave like this we want to know? This is nothing but malice. Please read the dictionary meaning of malice," the HC said
The bench was hearing an appeal filed by Dnyandev Wankhede, father of Sameer Wankhede, challenging the order of a single bench of the high court that had refused on November 22, to restrain Malik from making defamatory statements against him and his family.

Wankhede's father, Dnyandev had filed a defamation suit against Malik earlier this month in the HC, seeking among other things, that the minister be restrained from posting defamatory statements against him and his family on social media.

Officials of the Narcotic Control Bureau have hit out at Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab&nbsp;Malik&nbsp;for levelling a series of allegations against their zonal&nbsp;director Sameer&nbsp;Wankhede.&nbsp;
According to a report by India Today, NCB&nbsp;officials want to Malik&nbsp;to show evidence and also questioned why the minister is not approaching the court instead of making accusations.&nbsp;

Earlier on Sunday, Malik&nbsp;told reporters that Wankhede&nbsp;was a part of a plan to kidnap Aryan Khan.&nbsp;
The NCP&nbsp;leader has accused Wankhede&nbsp;of conducting a fake raid on the Mumbai cruise ship, presenting false witnesses and taking bribes.&nbsp;

Addressing a press conference, Malik&nbsp;said that Shah Rukh&nbsp;Khan's so had not purchased the tickets to the cruise party and he was brought there by two people named&nbsp;Pratik Gaba and Amir Furniturewala.&nbsp;
He further added that it was a 'kidnap and ransom' plan masterminded by BJP leader Mohit&nbsp;Kamboj&nbsp;and NCB's&nbsp;zonal&nbsp;director Sameer Wankhede&nbsp;was a part of that plan.&nbsp;
Malik&nbsp;also claimed that Wankhede&nbsp;met Kamboj&nbsp;on October 7 - 5 days after the cruise ship raid.
Aryan Khan was detained and subsequently arrested after the Narcotics Control Bureau raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2.&nbsp;
NCP&nbsp;leader Nawab&nbsp;Malik&nbsp;has since then accused Wankhede&nbsp;of taking bribe and faking the case and witnesses. Following these allegations, a NCB&nbsp;team from Delhi has taken over the case from its Mumbai&nbsp;unit.&nbsp;
