Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has opened up about the failure of his film &lsquo;Raksha Bandhan&rsquo;, starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. In a recent interview with the news agency PTI, he said that he was 'wrong in differentiating between the audiences' and he should have focused more on the story rather than selecting the audience to whom he wants to cater. He also added that he 'went too smart' with &lsquo;Raksha Bandhan&rsquo;.
&lsquo;This is my learning. We are battling the same thing and trying to find out what story will engage the audience at this moment and in this phase. Post-pandemic we have failed the audience with that. Maybe, I went too smart with Raksha Bandhan. I was trying to put it in a bracket and that's wrong,&rsquo; he said.

The festival of Rakshan Bandhan is not just a celebration of brother-sister bond, but about celebrating relationships that promise well being, good health sans any terms and conditions.
In that spirit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival at his residence with the daughters of his staff members who tied rakhi on his wrist.
Sharing glimpses of celebrations, the PM tweeted, "A very special Raksha Bandhan with these youngsters."
An official from PMO said that the Prime Minister celebrated the festival with daughters of sweepers, peons, gardeners, drivers and other such members of the staff working.
Every year the Prime Minister receives love and warmth from different corners of the country on the occasion. One such case is that of the widows of 'Vrindavan' who always send rakhis to him.
