And now Manju Devi aka actor Neena Gupta has shared this amazing recipe of 'Lauki Jaabar' on her Instagram. Lauki consists of 50% water and is easy to digest and is therefore perfect for summer meals.
<h3>How to make 'Lauki Jaabar'?</h3>
Lauki Jaabar a Bihari dish and is perfect for this summer. In her video, Neena Gupta has shared the recipe for this dish. Grate a lauki and soak some rice. Cook both with minimal water. Simultaneously, prepare the tadka with jeera or cumin seeds, garlic cloves, coriander seeds, curry leaves, and a dash of red chili powder. Once mixed thoroughly, the dish is ready to be served.&nbsp;
However, traditional lauki jaabar also has milk in it.

Actor Neena Gupta recently shared her wholesome meal on social media, featuring homemade suji cheela with chutney.
Suji cheela is a popular Indian breakfast rich in essential nutrients like iron and vitamin B. It is made with various vegetables such as spinach, tomatoes, bell peppers and more, enhancing its nutritional value.
This breakfast option is low in calories, easily digestible, improves gut health and aids in weight management.
<h3>Recipe for suji cheela&nbsp;</h3>
<ul>
<li>In a mixing bowl, combine the semolina, yogurt, and water to make a smooth batter. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the semolina to absorb the liquid.</li>
<li>After resting, check the consistency of the batter. It should be pourable but not too thin. Add more water if needed.</li>
<li>Add the chopped vegetables, onion, green chili (if using), coriander leaves, salt, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder to the batter. Mix well to combine.</li>
<li>Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil or ghee.</li>
<li>Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it evenly to form a thin circle.</li>
<li>Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges of the cheela and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the bottom turns golden brown.</li>

Neena Gupta stirred reactions on social media following her comment labeling feminism as 'faltu' (useless). In a subsequent interview with The Indian Express, the veteran actor addressed and clarified her statement.
Neena said only a line from her interview was used in promotional videos 'to create a controversy'.
Neena Gupta said, &lsquo;What they did is that they only used that chunk from the whole interview for promotions, to create a controversy. It said that I don&rsquo;t believe in &lsquo;faltu feminism&rsquo;, and after that people are fighting amongst each other. If one person is cursing me for saying that, someone else says, &lsquo;What do you know? Watch the whole interview&rsquo;. There should be a reference to what I said.&rsquo;
Recently, in a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Neena Gupta said, &lsquo;I want to say that it&rsquo;s not necessary to believe in faltu feminism (useless feminism) or the idea that women are equal to men.&rsquo;
Neena, who is known for her active presence on Instagram, also mentioned becoming more cautious about her social media posts.
&lsquo;I have made mistakes a couple of times. Many of us do. I now make sure that I don&rsquo;t post anything on social media if I am angry, or if I&rsquo;ve had a fight with someone. One should also not post if they are drunk, because if you do, then you regret it later. Thoda sambhalna padta hai (You have to be careful). You have to use the right language because a lot of people are listening to what you say. I have goofed up big time too,&rsquo; Neena said.
In her November interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Neena said, &lsquo;Focus on achieving financial independence and giving attention to your work. If you&rsquo;re a housewife, don&rsquo;t look down on it; it&rsquo;s an important role. Boost your self-esteem and avoid thinking of yourself as small. That&rsquo;s the main message I want to convey. Additionally, men and women are not equal. The day men start getting pregnant, that day we will be equal.&rsquo;
She also gave an example from her own life and added, &lsquo;You need a man. I will tell a small story. I had to catch a flight once at 6am. I did not have a boyfriend at that time. I came out of the house at 4 am and it was dark. A man started following me, and I was so scared. I went back to my house and I missed my flight. The next day I booked the same flight. But I stayed at my male friend&rsquo;s house and he dropped me off. I need a man.&rsquo;

Neena Gupta, who began her career in the 1980s, faced struggles in films despite TV successes. Now, in a recent interview, she recalled being turned down for Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet,' despite traveling to Los Angeles for a meeting.
Neena was auditioning for the role that was ultimately played by Dimple Kapadia. She said that Dimple landed the role even without traveling to Los Angeles.
In a chat with News 18 Showsha, Neena shared, &lsquo;I still give auditions and get rejected. I went to LA this one time for a day just to meet (Christopher) Nolan [for Tenet]. But Dimple (Kapadia) got the part even though she didn&rsquo;t travel to LA to meet him.&rsquo;
During the film's promotion, Dimple mentioned meeting the director in India for location scouting and also auditioning for the role.
Sharing her experience with Pinkvilla, she credited her agent, Purvi Lavingia, for her persistent efforts that eventually led her to secure the role.
She told Pinkvilla, &lsquo;I had to do an audition and it was very scary. I prepared myself. I can&rsquo;t remember lines so I wrote them in papers and I said, &lsquo;Let me at least try for myself&hellip; Let me see if I can do it or not.&rsquo; The first one, I wasn&rsquo;t happy with it and did another one&hellip; We sent it across and I was very wary, so I called up my agent Purvi Lavingia and thanks to her, I got this because she&rsquo;s so persistent.&rsquo;
She added that she was cast because Nolan &lsquo;liked&rsquo; her audition.
Dimple had shared that she did recommend names of other actors for the role too but her agent believed that she would be right for the part.
Dimple played the role of Priya, an arms dealer, in the film that was led by John David Washington.

In an interview with Indian Express, Neena Gupta was asked why she happily chose to play the role of &lsquo;dadi ma&rsquo; in &lsquo;Lust Stories 2&rsquo;. She replied, &lsquo;Because if it was not dadi maa saying what I am saying then it would not have any impact. That is why it was important for a dadi maa to say these things which we have said in the film.&rsquo;
She added that starting a conversation around sex is of the utmost importance for youngsters.
Sharing her own experience, she revealed that she had little to no knowledge about sex till she was in college and she believed that kissing can get women pregnant.

One of Satish&rsquo;s early works includes Kundan Shah&rsquo;s 1983 hit &lsquo;Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro&rsquo;, in which he starred alongside Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, and Neena Gupta.
A few years ago, Neena Gupta published her autobiography &lsquo;Sach Kahun Toh&rsquo; in which she mentioned their unique friendship. She revealed that when she was pregnant with cricketer Viv Richards&rsquo; child, Satish suggested that she could pass the child off as his after getting married. Neena was anticipating criticism for having a child out of the wedlock.
&lsquo;Don&rsquo;t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it&rsquo;s mine and we&rsquo;ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing,&rsquo; he told her.
Later, in an interview, Kaushik talked about the situation and said that he had been friends with Neena since 1975, and only a few people knew about her pregnancy. He said that he didn&rsquo;t want her to be alone so he offered to help.
Speaking with Bombay Times, he said &lsquo;I was concerned about not letting her feel alone. At the end of the day, that&rsquo;s what friends are for, right?&rsquo; He further stated that his offer to marry her &lsquo;was a mix of humour, concern, respect, and support&rsquo;.
A day before his death, Satish Kaushik celebrated Holi with several Bollywood celebrities at Javed Akhtar&rsquo;s house. He will be seen posthumously in the period drama &lsquo;Emergency&rsquo;, directed by Kangana Ranaut.

However, he is disappointed after he learns that his grandkids have no clue about the iconic film 'Rocky', which he felt is a philosophy.
He then meets Neena Gupta's character who wishes to travel to India as she hasn't been home in eight years. Shiv decides to help her and they take a trip during which Neena loses her passport and other belongings. The drama then begins.
Anupam Kher shared the trailer on his official YouTube channel and it has been captioned,' Presenting the Official Trailer of Shiv Shastri Balboa! Neena Gupta is known as one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood. She's known for starring in both critical and commercial hits. However, her personal life also intrigues people since she gave birth to daughter Masaba Gupta out of wedlock in 1988. Now, Neena has claimed that she is not a rebel, and instead a 'chuha (mouse)'.
Speaking with Brut India, she said, "I am not a rebel. I am a chuha (mouse). I am not unconventional. I am the most conventional person right now. Just because I had a baby out of wedlock, which millions of women have in India and out&hellip; But the media made me into, &lsquo;Ah brave&rsquo;. After my death the headline will come, &lsquo;Neena Gupta who lived life on her own terms passes away&rsquo;. I did not."
She also recalled the time when Masaba was born and said that she had both good and bad experiences. While she enjoyed motherhood, she was also at the receiving end of social stigma.
"It was very strange because there was so much happiness and so much unhappiness. I was so happy to have Masaba. And then this whole media and everybody - they made my life miserable. So I used to stay at home, not go out and enjoy my child and kind of put curtains in front of my eyes. Telling myself that the bad people, they don&rsquo;t exist. Whoever is good, I will enjoy them," she said.
Neena had Masaba Gupta with ex-partner and former West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards. They had an affair while he was married, and later refused to end his marriage to be with Neena. Masaba was then raised by Neena who had a strained relationship with her father till the age of 18.
On the work front, Neena recently featured in the psychological thriller 'Vadh' alongside Sanjay Mishra.

Fashion designer-actor Masaba Gupta recently opened up about being different from her mother Neena Gupta and also how much likes to read the reviews of her work. She also revealed that unlike her mother she likes 'tags' and 'goes after them' because they are important to her.
Masaba is often hailed as &lsquo;millennial star&rsquo;, &lsquo;destiny&rsquo;s child&rsquo; and &lsquo;game changer&rsquo;.
In an exclusive conversation with News18, Masaba said, 'I read all the reviews of Masaba Masaba and Modern Love Mumbai. I read the good stuff and the bad, and I read them many times. Sometimes in the middle of a review, you might find something that helps you and makes you a better actor or a business person.'
'I&rsquo;m not like my mom (Neena Gupta; actor). I like tags and I go after them because they are important to me. I&rsquo;m very ambitious like that. I want to be called multiple things. I want to influence a generation,' she said.
She further added, 'Labels like reviews are always welcome. I take everything I can get. I love it. I collect all my magazine covers and I read them right from the first word to the last. I frame them sometimes.'
Talking about her fashion shows reviews, she said, 'Fashion show reviews can be hardcore. And at that time, not many people were very kind always, I remember this one time when I had done a show after a year and one of the reviews referred to me as a phoenix rising from the ashes, and it was my worst collection. It did so badly that I didn&rsquo;t have the heart to tell the writer that they were wrong. You&rsquo;ve to take everything with a pinch of salt and be aware of your own reality.'
On the work front, Masaba was recently seen in the second season of the Netflix web series, &lsquo;Masaba Masaba&rsquo;, and a short titled &lsquo;I Love Thane&rsquo; in the anthology film &lsquo;Modern Love Mumbai&rsquo;.

Neena was asked about how love was different for her at 49 than in earlier phases of her life. She said &lsquo;I don't think there is anything called love between a man and a woman. It starts with lust and then If you get along, you become affectionate to each other and then, it becomes a habit. The only love that I have felt is for Masaba. I don't know other people might have felt, but mujhe nahi love samajh mein aata (I don't understand that love).&rsquo;
&lsquo;Ye sab wo lust hota hai shuru me, uske baad (there is lust in the beginning, but after that) it can take any direction, you marry or you go to somebody else. It's only with a child that love I feel that I can do anything for her. For my husband I will do, I do a lot, but I will not do anything for him like I will do for Masaba,&rsquo; she added.
The actor also recalled the time she learned about her pregnancy, and called Vivian to inform him about it. The cricketer, who was married to someone else at the time, encouraged her to go ahead with the pregnancy. She mentioned that her family didn&rsquo;t support her initially, but eventually her father became one of her biggest supporters.
Recalling the conversation she had with Vivian, Neena said, &lsquo;I was not very giddy with joy. I was happy because I loved him. I called him and asked him that if you don&rsquo;t want this child then I won&rsquo;t have it. He said, &lsquo;No no I would love for you to have this child&rsquo;. Everyone told me, &lsquo;No, no, no how can you do it alone?&rsquo; because he was already married and I couldn&rsquo;t marry him and go to Antigua to live there. But what happens is jawani mein you are blind. (You are blind in your youth) When you are in love, you don&rsquo;t listen to anybody. No children will listen to their parents and I was the same.&rsquo;
She further stated that she told Masaba everything frankly about who her father was and why she didn&rsquo;t have a conventional upbringing. &lsquo;We (Vivian and Neena) were in touch sometimes, sometimes not. But I told her (Masaba) everything frankly. It&rsquo;s important to tell the child the truth otherwise he or she will find it from somewhere else. So, it&rsquo;s better to tell her and let her adapt,&rsquo; Neena said.
