Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, addressing journalism students at Makhanlal Chaturvedi University&rsquo;s &lsquo;Abhyudaya 2025&rsquo; programme, urged budding journalists to uphold truth, moral values, and democracy.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that the richness of journalism will remain alive only by struggle for the truth and called upon budding scribes to always be alert, active and aspire for moral values and preserve the democratic system.
Drawing on the Ramayana and Mahabharata periods, he noted on Wednesday that communication has always played an important role in history.
Yadav was addressing the commencement of the 2025-26 session of the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism University and a programme for its new students, &lsquo;Abhyudaya 2025&rsquo;, here.
The chief minister said, &ldquo;The richness of journalism will remain alive only through the struggle for the truth.
&ldquo;Journalism is a form of communication, and this art has been of special importance in every era. Whether it is the dialogue of Hanuman ji in the Ramayana or the Yaksha Prashna of the Mahabharata period, communication in both areas played an important role in history,&rdquo; he noted.
Yaksha Prashna is a key episode from the Mahabharata, where a divine being, Yaksha, poses a series of philosophical questions to Yudhishthira, the eldest of the five Pandava brothers.
The CM opined that communication and journalism have the ability to give a broad or subtle form to the impact of any event.
&ldquo;In the present era and in the time to come, it is important for students, who are becoming proficient in journalism, to always remain alert, active and ready to maintain moral values, and also strive for the betterment of the democratic system through information and communication,&rdquo; Yadav averred.
The chief minister observed &lsquo;Abhyudaya&rsquo; in the field of journalism does not mean just beginning, but a journey of continuous awareness, search for the truth and responsibility that gives a new direction to society.
He said in the field of journalism, the Makhanlal Chaturvedi Journalism University has a unique identity in the entire country.
It is a matter of pride that legendary poet and writer Makhanlal Chaturvedi was born in Babai Nagar of Madhya Pradesh and he made Khandwa his 'karmabhoomi' (place of work), the CM stated.
Speaking on the occasion, noted poet Kumar Vishwas said history has shown the younger generation has always struggled for the betterment of the country.
He said students should have clarity regarding their goals and give top priority to neutrality and honesty.
Referring to the crisis of media credibility in the era of social media, Vishwas insisted that young journalists must work in the print segment for at least three years to acquire proficiency in their chosen language and hone news writing skills.
The university&rsquo;s Vice Chancellor, Vijay Manohar Tiwari, presented the outline of the Abhyudaya programme and highlighted the institution&rsquo;s priorities and recent innovations.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yadav unveiled a statue of Chaturvedi installed in the university campus and also planted a sapling.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held a significant meeting with the Tata Group in Dubai on Monday as part of his ongoing foreign visit.&nbsp;
The meeting was also attended by Saurabh Tiwari, Area Director for the Middle East and CIS, Taj Dubai, who praised the Chief Minister&rsquo;s vision for Madhya Pradesh.
&ldquo;The CM has got a beautiful vision for his state. What he is trying to do for Madhya Pradesh is phenomenal,&rdquo; said Tiwari after the meeting. He further added, &ldquo;All the key people and decision makers were there. Their main focus is to develop the state of Madhya Pradesh, especially in the tourism sector.&rdquo;
The Chief Minister&rsquo;s discussions with Tata Group are part of a broader outreach in the UAE to boost investment, trade, and industrial collaborations. During his visit, CM Yadav also held meetings with representatives of E&amp; (formerly Etisalat), the Director of LuLu Group International Salim MA, and other key industry stakeholders.
Speaking to ANI, CM Yadav shared that the day was entirely dedicated to strengthening trade ties between Madhya Pradesh and Dubai. &ldquo;Today, the whole day was dedicated to increasing trade between Madhya Pradesh and Dubai,&rdquo; he said.

The CM also reflected on his meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, describing it as &ldquo;very positive.&rdquo; He said, &ldquo;I met people from many sectors like mining, green energy, food processing, and tourism... I'm happy that our Madhya Pradesh is moving towards becoming one of the top states in the country.&rdquo;
This visit is part of CM Yadav&rsquo;s week-long foreign tour from July 13 to 19 under the banner of &ldquo;Global Dialogue 2025,&rdquo; aimed at attracting global investments, fostering technology collaboration, and creating employment opportunities. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also took to X to share details of the interaction, saying they discussed investment opportunities under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and I2U2 collaboration.
"Today, on the second day of the Dubai visit, I met with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, H.E. Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, and held extensive discussions on the immense investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and I2U2 collaboration," he said.
Highlighting MP&rsquo;s offerings for UAE investors, CM Yadav added, &ldquo;Madhya Pradesh offers a suitable industrial base, policy support, and necessary infrastructure for UAE investments in sectors such as EV, textiles, pharma, smart manufacturing, renewable energy, and food processing.&rdquo;
He also mentioned opportunities for partnerships in mineral resources, tourism, healthcare, air cargo, and &lsquo;plug and play&rsquo; industrial parks. &ldquo;This multidimensional collaboration based on CEPA and I2U2 will elevate India-UAE relations to new heights and prove significant in realising the vision of a &lsquo;Developed Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;,&rdquo; he said.
Before concluding his UAE visit on Tuesday, CM Yadav is scheduled to meet representatives of DP World and visit India Mart. He will then travel to Spain as part of his foreign tour from July 13 to 19.
The Chief Minister&rsquo;s Office also posted on X, &ldquo;Madhya Pradesh becomes the preferred choice for investors in Dubai. The second day of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's Dubai visit was dedicated to one-on-one meetings with prominent industrialists. Today, on the third day of the foreign visit, the Chief Minister will meet with representatives of DP World and visit India Mart.&rdquo;
The ongoing visit is part of "Global Dialogue 2025", a mission to attract global investments, promote technology partnerships, and generate new employment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav highlighted Dr. Mookerjee&rsquo;s pivotal role in India&rsquo;s pre- and post-Independence political landscape.&nbsp;
&ldquo;There are a few great personalities who contributed before freedom as well as played a crucial role at the time of formation of Indian Constitution post Independence. Today, we are here to remember the contribution of one such personality Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee... Today I am satisfied that Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed Article 370... Dr Mookerjee made us realise that Jammu and Kashmir is our crown and we need to admire it. Today, we can see it... Let us remember the contribution of Dr Mookerjee and follow the path shown by his life,&rdquo; said CM Yadav.
Echoing similar sentiments, BJP state president VD Sharma paid tribute to Mookerjee&rsquo;s determination and sacrifice. &ldquo;Today we are remembering Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who sacrificed his life in the journey from Bharatiya Jana Sangh to Bharatiya Janata Party... the then government had decided that there would be two rules in one nation through Article 370 and Mookerjee launched agitation against it, went to jail and formed Jana Sangh. He had died in Jail with a resolve to remove Article 370. Our party was formed due to the sacrifice of Mookerjee so, today is a resolution day for us. We are proud to say that PM Modi fulfilled Syama Prasad Mookerjee's resolution of Article 370 revocation,&rdquo; Sharma said.
He further added, &ldquo;On the death anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, we pay floral tribute to him and every party worker should resolve to follow the path shown by Mookerjee.&rdquo;
Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later evolved into the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Minister for Industry and Supply in Jawaharlal Nehru&rsquo;s cabinet but resigned over the Delhi pact with Liaquat Ali Khan in 1950.&nbsp;
He went on to form the Bharatiya Jana Sangh on October 21, 1951, in Delhi. Mookerjee was arrested during a visit to Kashmir in 1953 and died under detention on June 23 of that year.

Dr. Yadav stepped out and engaged warmly with the women vendors. During the interaction, he asked, &ldquo;How much worth of mangoes do you sell daily?&rdquo;
One of the mango sellers, Mrs. Basanti Tekam, was overjoyed by the unexpected visit and responded with enthusiasm: &ldquo;Sir, if we sit here from morning to evening, then mangoes worth 400 to 500 rupees get sold.&rdquo;
Noticing Mrs. Basanti&rsquo;s daughter standing nearby, the Chief Minister inquired about her education: &ldquo;Does this girl go to school?&rdquo; The mother replied, &ldquo;Yes Sir, she studies in the CM Rise School.&rdquo; Dr. Yadav responded with delight, saying, &ldquo;Oh! Daughter, now its name has been changed to Sandipani Vidyalaya.&rdquo;
He then bought mangoes from all the women vendors present and paid for the purchases himself. The Chief Minister and his wife distributed the mangoes affectionately among the children gathered around.
Taking time to interact with the young ones, Dr. Yadav asked their names and whether they attended school. Children like Umesh, Sakshi, and Riya replied, &ldquo;Yes Sir.&rdquo;
Encouraging them, Dr. Yadav advised the children to attend school regularly and study with commitment.

In a major policy breakthrough, the Madhya Pradesh government has approved the long-pending Public Service Promotion Rules, marking the end of a nine-year delay.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the Mantralaya in Bhopal on Tuesday.
The newly approved rules ensure representation and protection of the interests of reserved categories, with 20% reservation for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 16% for Scheduled Castes (SC).
Promotions for SC and ST public servants will now also be based on merit, aligning with both equity and performance-based governance.
Highlighting the significance of the decision, CM Yadav shared on social media platform X, "Today, in the cabinet meeting, the matter of promotion of employees and officers of the state, which was pending for 9 years, was resolved. In this, the interests of employees and officers of all categories, including SC-ST, have been taken care of. Through this, after promotion, 2 lakh posts will be vacant in government services and there will be a possibility of fresh recruitment on these."

With the implementation of the new promotion rules, the government anticipates nearly two lakh vacancies opening up, paving the way for fresh recruitment across departments.
In another key decision, the cabinet approved the establishment of 459 new Anganwadi Centres in special tribal areas under the 'Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0' scheme, as part of the PM-JANMAN program. This move includes the creation of 459 honorary posts for Anganwadi Workers, 459 for Anganwadi Helpers, and 26 regular supervisory roles.
The project, which spans from FY 2025&ndash;26 to 2030&ndash;31, has a total estimated cost of ₹143.46 crore. Of this, ₹72.78 crore will be contributed by the Centre, while the remaining ₹70.68 crore will come from the state government.
The cabinet also cleared a major investment in the state's power infrastructure. A total estimated expenditure of ₹5,163 crore was approved for the ongoing and upcoming capital projects of the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) for the period 2025&ndash;26 to 2029&ndash;30. The funding pattern includes 20% equity from the state government and 80% as loans from financial institutions or banks.
Additionally, the council of ministers approved the establishment of new District Treasuries in the recently formed districts of Pandhurna, Maihar, and Mauganj, aimed at strengthening local administrative efficiency.

Praising PM Modi&rsquo;s leadership, Dr. Yadav said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader of the world's largest democracy," and highlighted the significant advancements in energy production during his tenure. He proudly shared that solar energy generated in Madhya Pradesh powers the Delhi Metro and supplies electricity to thousands of households. The state plans to initiate inter-state solar energy collaborations to provide rotational electricity for six months.
Highlighting cooperative efforts, Dr. Yadav referenced the river-linking initiatives between Madhya Pradesh and neighboring states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. Minister for New &amp; Renewable Energy, Shri Rakesh Shukla, commended Dr. Yadav&rsquo;s leadership in furthering PM Modi&rsquo;s solar energy ambitions. He stressed that the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Yojana aims to operationalize projects at full capacity across 1,900 substations. He added, &ldquo;Investors in the scheme are free to choose a central grant of ₹1.5 crore per megawatt for their projects.&rdquo;
Shukla also introduced new incentives, stating that Madhya Pradesh is pioneering the provision of reactive power incentives and offering a 3% interest rebate for seven years under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund. GIZ is extending technical cooperation, and agreements have been signed with banks such as SBI, Central Bank, and AU Small Finance Bank to support investor financing.
Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar emphasized that the government is prioritizing green energy to address electricity shortages and reduce pollution. He shared plans to buy surplus power from farmers, using the resulting savings to develop essential infrastructure like schools and hospitals.

Shri Amanbir Singh Bains, MD of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam, detailed the scheme&rsquo;s investment model and tender processes. &ldquo;Each unit averages 5 MW, requiring ₹20 crore in investment,&rdquo; he said, encouraging local participation for long-term income and energy sustainability. "Madhya Pradesh is being made a global centre of holistic lifestyle and wellness innovation. Through the summit, the state has made it clear that it is fully prepared to lead India's wellness mission. The summit is a transformative initiative. There is confluence of policy, investment, spirituality and social welfare. MP is now ready to become the global engine of India's wellness mission," Yadav said.
During the day-long event, Yadav held 13 one-to-one meetings with investors from the wellness and hospitality sector. Yadav said it was a happy coincidence that World Environment Day and Ganga Dussehra are falling on the same day.
On this occasion, the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, under which 5 crore saplings were planted in MP, was relaunched in the state.
Later, Yadav told reporters his government is working to create employment opportunities in various sectors, and the intention behind having big centres of medical systems at religious places is to ensure people from all over the world get spirituality along with health.
In the Regional Industry Conclave held at divisional headquarters last year and the Global Investors Summit held in February under the guidance of PM Modi, investment proposals of more than Rs 30 lakh crore were received, he informed.
"We have declared 2025 as Industry Year and sector-wise summits are being organized continuously. Apart from Agri Summit in Mandsaur and Narsinghpur, the IT Summit in Indore has brought good results. The NITI Aayog considers MP as a leader among fast growing states. Due to surplus electricity, excellent infrastructure and new policies, investors have turned to this place," Yadav said.
Madhya Pradesh guarantees stability and success to investors with clear policy, competent administration and strong leadership, Yadav said, adding that wellness entrepreneurs and institutions must invest in the state starting from Ujjain.
"Come to Madhya Pradesh, and become a partner in the journey to make India a world leader," the CM said.
"An agreement was signed between NIPR Ahmedabad and MPIDC at the summit, under which Ujjain Medical Device Park will receive technical and educational assistance. This park will be developed as a testing and certification hub," the official said.
Investment proposals were received at the summit from Shivender Singh Founder Era Hospitality, Mukund Prasad Director Leisure Hotels Group, Travelpack chairman Ashok Patel, Mayfair Travels MD Sharad Thadani and Jindal Naturocare Institute CAO Sudhir MV, he added.
On the occasion, Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh delivered a spiritual address and handed over a letter of intent (LOI) to the state government for setting up a centre in Ujjain.
"Two panel sessions were organized in the summit, in which topics like wellness infrastructure, Simhastha based medical tourism, employment generation and skill development were discussed. In the main session, the overall roadmap of the state in wellness visioning was presented," the official informed.

"Our youth from small districts of Madhya Pradesh are waving the flag of their talent. It is a matter of joy and pride," he said in a post.
According to officials at IIT Kanpur, which was the conducting institute this time for JEE-Advanced, a total of 1,80,422 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 of the exam held on May 18.
"In the exam, 54,378 candidates have qualified, out of which 9,404 are females," an official said.
Delhi zone&rsquo;s Rajit Gupta, a resident of Kota in Rajasthan, bagged the top rank by scoring 332 out of 360 marks.

Massive Groundwork Behind Khandwa&rsquo;s First-Place Finish
According to Shri Aviprased, State Nodal Officer of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan and Commissioner of MGNREGA, Khandwa district undertook an unparalleled volume of work to achieve this distinction.
The district executed and registered over 1,29,000 water conservation structures.
These included 12,750 well recharge pits, 1,500 recharge shafts, 23,570 dugwells, 5,780 boulder check dams, 1,256 boulder walls, 3,960 sandbag barricades, 7,455 field bunds, 5,500 gully plugs, 3,269 drainage trenches, 6,528 handpump recharge units, 39,000 rooftop rainwater harvesting systems, 58 check/stop dams and ponds, 4,800 farm ponds, 2,275 drain works, 1,500 additional farm ponds, 68 contour trenches, 750 dry borewell recharges, 2,462 renovation projects, and 6,560 other revival efforts for handpumps, wells, and dried borewells.
These works were supported through funding from MGNREGA, the 15th and 5th Finance Commission grants, CSR contributions, and enthusiastic public participation.
Statewide Commitment Under Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan
The success in Khandwa is part of a broader mission-mode campaign led by the Madhya Pradesh government through the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan.
The campaign focuses on reviving old water bodies and conserving rainwater using low-cost, effective techniques. Structures such as farm ponds, recharge pits, and Amrit Sarovars have been central to this initiative, aiming for long-term water sustainability and drought resilience across rural and urban areas.
Verification Pending Before Formal National Recognition
Though the Ministry of Jal Shakti has released preliminary rankings based on data submitted for works completed between April 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025, a physical verification of the structures in top-performing districts like Khandwa will follow. Only after this verification will the awards and formal honors be conferred by the central government.
National Campaign Encourages Community-Driven Water Conservation
The &ldquo;Jal Sanchay, Jan Bhagidari&rdquo; campaign was launched on September 6, 2024, under the broader &ldquo;Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain&rdquo; program. It emphasizes the motto &ldquo;Where it falls, when it falls &ndash; conserve rainwater&rdquo; and encourages active community participation.

Amid tight security, the vehicles reached around 4.30 am on Thursday at a factory in Pithampur where the waste will be disposed of, a senior police official said in earlier in the day.
A group of people led by an organisation took out a protest rally in Pithampur against shifting of the waste there.
They claimed the waste disposal in Pithampur was unsafe for its residents and the environment.
The protesters also called for 'Pithampur Bandh' on Friday.
A large number of people on Sunday also took out a protest march in Pithampur to oppose the disposal of Union Carbide waste in the city, having a population of about 1.75 lakh and located 30 km from Indore.
The highly toxic methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas leaked from the Union Carbide pesticide factory on the intervening night of December 2-3, 1984, killing at least 5,479 persons and leaving thousands with serious and long-lasting health issues.
It is considered to be among the worst industrial disasters in the world.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court on December 3, 2024 rebuked authorities for not clearing the Union Carbide site in Bhopal despite directions from even the Supreme Court.
The HC set a four-week deadline to shift the waste, observing that even 40 years after the gas tragedy, authorities were in a "state of inertia".
The high court had warned the government of contempt proceedings if its directive was not followed.
"If everything is found to be fine, the waste will be incinerated within three months. Otherwise, it might take up to nine months," Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department Director Swatantra Kumar Singh said on Wednesday.
Initially, some of the waste will be burnt at the disposal unit in Pithampur and the residue (ash) will be examined to find whether any harmful elements are left, he said.
The smoke from the incinerator will pass through special four-layer filters so that the surrounding air is not polluted, he added.
Once it is confirmed that no traces of toxic elements are left, the ash will be covered by a two-layer membrane and buried to ensure it does not come in contact with soil and water in any way.
A team of experts under the supervision of officials of the Central Pollution Control Board and State Pollution Control Board will carry out the process, Singh said.
