Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav visits Japan to strengthen economic ties, attract investments

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav arrived in Japan on Tuesday as part of a key initiative to bolster the state’s economic ties and attract global investments. Yadav was warmly welcomed by members of the Indian diaspora upon his arrival.

The four-day visit is a significant step in the ongoing ‘Invest in Madhya Pradesh’ campaign, launched last year, which will culminate in the 'Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit 2025' in Bhopal on February 24 and 25.

During his trip, CM Yadav will engage with leading Japanese business houses across vital sectors, seeking collaborations that could unlock new economic opportunities for the state. “We are confident these meetings will translate into significant business partnerships for Madhya Pradesh,” he stated.

Madhya Pradesh already shares a strong trade and investment relationship with Japan. In the fiscal year 2023-24, India-Japan trade totaled USD 22.85 billion, with Madhya Pradesh contributing exports worth USD 93 million. Key exports from the state included aluminium, chemicals, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.

The visit is seen as a strategic move to further enhance Madhya Pradesh’s global footprint and attract investments in line with its development goals ahead of the upcoming summit.
