CM Mohan Yadav envisions Madhya Pradesh as India’s leading hub of possibilities at Ujjain Wellness Summit

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday inaugurated the Spiritual and Wellness Summit in Ujjain, where he was felicitated by spiritual leader Swami Chidanand Saraswati.

During his address, Yadav laid out a forward-looking vision for Madhya Pradesh, describing it as “a land of greatest possibilities.”

Highlighting the state’s growing industrial footprint, the CM noted, “Around ₹30 lakh crore has been invested across various sectors,” and emphasized efforts to strengthen regional industries. He pointed to Madhya Pradesh’s geographical advantage and improved air connectivity as major catalysts for growth.

Yadav also underlined the state’s investor-friendly policies. “We are offering land parcels exceeding 25 acres for medical colleges at just ₹1,” he said, adding that the aim is to encourage “ease of doing business.” The state is fully prepared to back initiatives that deliver meaningful, ground-level impact, he assured.

Linking modern wellness with India’s traditional knowledge, Yadav invoked pioneering Indian scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose. “Plants have life,” Bose declared at the Royal Society, a statement Yadav referenced to reinforce the scientific foundations of ancient Indian wellness systems.

The summit, held in Ujjain—an ancient city with deep spiritual roots—has positioned the region as a global centre of wellness, arts, and culture. “The ancient city of Ujjain has today become the epicentre of wellness, arts, and culture,” the CM remarked.

Coinciding with World Environment Day and Ganga Dussehra, the summit showcased Madhya Pradesh’s green credentials. Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, described the state as “the cleanest, greenest, and safest” in the country, and credited it with emerging as a hub for wellness tourism.

With approximately 50 lesser-known travel destinations and 18 world heritage sites, Madhya Pradesh is also leveraging tourism to promote holistic well-being. The convergence of spirituality, wellness, and sustainable development marked the summit as a key step in aligning the state with a global wellness vision.
