Suhail was planning an attack on some leaders from the Indian state of Punjab, as per the probe.

One of the alleged terrorists arrested in Delhi recently has revealed that he tried to visit Pakistan via Nepal twice, but failed, according to an ANI report.
Naushad Ali told investigators that he used to receive regular instructions from Pakistani handlers named Ashfaq and Suhail, as per sources quoted by ANI on 19 January 2023. Both the handlers are alleged members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organisation.
Suhail was planning an attack on some leaders from the Indian state of Punjab, as per the probe.
Naushad Ali and Jagjit Singh were arrested by police from Jahangirpuri in Delhi on 12 January for allegedly being in touch with terrorist outfits. Three pistols and 22 live cartridges were recovered from them, cops had said.
Naushad had been associated with terror outfit 'Harkat ul-Ansar'. He has been a life convict in two cases of murder and has also undergone 10 years sentence in an Explosive Act case, Delhi Police had said.

Days after North Delhi Municipal Corporation carried out a demolition drive, which was later stopped by the Supreme Court, in Jahangirpuri, bulldozers have reached the Shaheen Bagh are in the national capital as South Delhi Municipal Corporation prepares to carry out what it calls an 'anti-encroachment' drive. 
Locals protested as bulldozers and municipal corporation vans arrived in the area and blocked the vehicles. 
Visuals also showed police dressed in riot gear putting protesters into a bus and driving them away.

The demolition drive in Shaheen&nbsp;Bagh, one of the major site of anti-CAA&nbsp;protests, was supposed to be carried out last week but was postponed after police said they did not have enough personnel to provide security.&nbsp;

Protests erupted in Shaheen Bagh on Monday with hundreds of people, including women, opposing the SDMC's anti-encroachment drive as bulldozers rolled into the area in presence of heavy police personnel.
Protesters raised slogans against the BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) as well as the central government and demanded that the action should be stopped. Some women protestors also stood in front of bulldozers to prevent the exercise.
Leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress also reached the spot and staged dharna against the action.
The protest also caused heavy traffic snarls in Shaheen Bagh, Kalindi Kunj, Jaitpur, Sarita Vihar and Mathura Road among other areas.
SDMC's Central Zone Chairman Rajpal Singh told PTI that the illegal structures could not be removed due to protests.
In December 2019, Shaheen Bagh was the centre of protests and sit-ins against Citizenship (Amendment) Act. The sit-in was called off in March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic had struck the city.
Last month, an anti-encroachment drive conducted by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation in Jahangirpuri area, which witnessed violence between two communities on April 16, drew widespread criticism. The Supreme Court had to intervene to stop the action there.
Singh said that removing encroachment from any area is our obligatory function which the civic body is doing.
"Protests being held are politically-motivated. We will do whatever we have to remove encroachment. Our bulldozers and trucks are still there (in Shaheen Bagh)," Singh told PTI.
Senior police officials were also present at the spot along with their personnel to provide security to SDMC officials to carry out the anti-encroachment drive in the area.
"Police personnel have been deployed at the spot where the anti-encroachment drive is being carried out. This is being done to ensure that the concerned civic bodies can carry out their work without any hassle and with all safety," a senior police official said.
Paramilitary forces were also deployed to manage the situation, officials said.
As South MCD officials with bulldozers reached Shaheen Bagh, some locals started removing their "illegal structures".

Delhi Congress leaders, including party's media cell vice chairman Parvez Alam, were among those detained by the police.
Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Gupta criticised the Congress and AAP for "opposing anti encroachment drive" in Shaheen Bagh.
"Today it's proved that AAP and it's MLAs are supporting Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. Those who are lying before bulldozers will be given a reply by the people. It's unfortunate that AAP and Congress are opposing removal of encroachment in Shaheen Bagh. I urge AAP and Congress not to link encroachment with religion," he said.
The plan for anti-encroachment drive comes after Gupta wrote to the mayors of South and East corporations on April 20 seeking the removal of encroachments "by Rohingyas, Bangladeshis and anti-social elements" in their areas.
Last month, a drive was planned in Okhla and Jasola but it could not be executed due to unavailibility of police force, said SDMC's Central Zone Chairman Singh.
On May 10, the anti-encroachment drive will be conducted near Gurudwara Road near New Friends Colony while on May 11, it will be conducted in Meharchand Market, Lodhi Colony near Sai Baba Mandir and near JLN Metro station, he said

A Delhi court on Saturday said the possible complicity of police officers in events leading up to the Jahangirpuri violence needs to be probed.  
The court reprimanded the police for not stopping the illegal procession on Hanuman Jayanti and instead accompanying the procession. The march reportedly did not have permission from the police.  
Deputy commissioner of police Usha Rangnani said in a statement that the “police has a prime and very focus responsibility of maintaining law and order, […] if any situation erupts, then police has to see to it that the situation doesn’t worsen”. 
Clashes broke out between two communities during a religious procession at Jahangirpuri on April 16, leaving eight police personnel and a local resident injured.
The court also said that at the fact of it, there was ‘utter failure’ of the Delhi Police in stopping the procession and the issue seems ‘to have simply brushed aside by senior officers’. The court added that the ‘complicity of the police officials, needs investigating and the liability of concerned officer, if any, needs to be fixed so such incidents are not repeated in the future.

Security measures in riot-hit Jahangirpuri are being reviewed and a decision on further deployment of forces would be taken according to the prevailing situation, the Delhi Police said on Monday.
Seeking to return to normalcy, Hindus and Muslims on Sunday took out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Jahangirpuri’s C block - the epicentre of the April 16 clashes - and gave a message of peace and harmony.
The rally was facilitated by the Delhi Police, who deployed a heavy security in the area. It allowed about 50 people from the two communities to participate in the rally.
A day after the yatra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Usha Rangnani said, "Security arrangements are being reviewed based on the prevailing situation and accordingly, we would take a decision and required arrangements would be made." “As of now, appropriate, adequate and sufficient security personnel have been deployed in the area,” she said.
“A large number of security personnel, including those from the anti-riot force, have been deployed in the violence-hit areas of Jahangirpuri in northwest Delhi,” police said.
According to a senior officer, over 500 police personnel and six companies of additional force have been deployed in the area round-the-clock.
“A total of 80 tear gas gun parties and water cannons have been deployed. Drones are also being used in sensitive areas for rooftop surveillance. All senior officers have been instructed to be at the spot to avoid any untoward incident,” the officer said.
According to police, adequate force has also been deployed in sensitive areas other than Jahangirpuri.
Clashes broke out between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Jahangirpuri on April 16, in which eight police personnel and a local resident were injured.
Since April 17, there has been a heavy police deployment in C block.
According to police, there was stone-pelting and arson during the clashes between the two communities. Some vehicles were also torched.

A similar tale of woe was narrated by Nazma, whose sister Rahima "lost everything" as her tea shop near the C-Block mosque at Jahangirpuri was razed to the ground by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) during an anti-encroachment drive.
Bulldozers demolished several structures at Jahangirpuri on Wednesday amid a heavy paramilitary and police presence during the NDMC's anti-encroachment drive that was stopped within hours following a Supreme Court order.
The drive continued even after the apex court directed the authorities to stop it. Officials said it was because of the absence of a written order from the court.
Malika Bibi said she had been running the shop for 25 years and it was razed without any prior notice from the authorities.
"They razed my shop and took away four carts. This was the only source of income for our family of five. I have two kids and both are studying in primary schools. I am worried how their studies will continue and have lost all hopes for their good future. I am clueless about recovering our losses," she told PTI.
Before the anti-encroachment drive was stopped, the civic body had bulldozed a number of temporary shops and structures.
The debris of the demolished structures was seen strewn across streets in the area after the drive.
"My sister Rahima (40) had a shop near the masjid and it has been demolished. The shop selling tea, coffee and other items helped her run her house but she has lost everything now. She did not get a notice or an order prior to the demolition. We are not being allowed to come out of our homes," lamented Nazma (35), who used to help her sister in the business.
Ganesh Kumar Gupta, whose fruit juice shop was also razed, said he will go to the court.
"My shop was registered under DDA allotment in 1977. I have been running after police and other officials with my documents since the morning. My shop was razed at 11.30 am, I told them about the Supreme Court order but they did not listen to me. I will go to the court," Gupta said.
A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana ordered the stopping of the drive and agreed to hear a petition challenging the action of the civic bodies allegedly aimed against those involved in Saturday's communal clashes.
Despite the court's directions, bulldozers were seen razing structures near the C-Block mosque in Jahangirpuri, where the violence had erupted on April 16.
"My shop has been demolished and they have taken away two refrigerators as well. I was not given any notice. I was not told why the shop was demolished. I had no idea that they will do this," Akbar, who owned a poultry shop near the mosque, said.
Another resident of the area, Mohammad Rahman, said, "This is like punishing the whole community. If you want to punish, then punish the accused who have been arrested. Why are you punishing the whole community? People have lost their livelihood." Jahangirpuri witnessed violent clashes, including stone pelting, arson and firing, between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on Saturday. Eight police personnel and a local resident were injured in the clashes.
The NDMC had requested the Delhi Police on Tuesday to provide at least 400 security personnel to maintain law and order during the two-day anti-encroachment drive in the area.

A bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana ordered status quo in the present situation, and said the petition would be listed before an appropriate bench. Senior advocate Dushyant Dave mentioned a petition against the special joint encroachment removal action of civic bodies including the NDMC and the PWD, and said &ldquo;a completely unauthorised and unconstitutional demolition&rdquo; has been ordered. &nbsp;
He alleged that the demolition, which was to start at 2 pm on Wednesday, has begun at 9 am and no mandatory notice for demolition has been served on the alleged violators.
