Sorkin had adapted Ben Mezrich's 2009 book "The Accidental Billionaires" for the 2010 movie, which was directed by David Fincher and chronicled how Zuckerberg started Facebook from his dorm at Harvard University as well as the legal dispute he had with co-founder Eduardo Saverin.
The sequel is currently titled "The Social Network Part II" and is set up at Sony Pictures, according to entertainment news outlet Deadline.
The follow-up will also be directed by Sorkin and will tackle the story behind the Wall Street Journal&lsquo;s article series The Facebook Files by Jeff Horowitz. The reports, published in October 2021, exposed the inner workings of &mdash; and multiple harms caused by &mdash; the world&rsquo;s largest social network.
It is unclear whether Jesse Eisenberg, who played Zuckerberg in the first part, will return for the sequel.
"The Social Network Part II", which will also paint a broader picture of Facebook&rsquo;s evolution since the original movie, including its influence on global politics and its effect on teens and preteens, will be produced by Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin and Stuart Besser.
"The Social Network" had received eight Oscar nominations and won three for best adapted screenplay for Sorkin, best original score, and best film editing.&nbsp;

At the Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport here, Anju was spotted wearing a burqa.
She told the media there, "I am here in India to meet my Indian family. I came back to India of my own volition...." Anju had travelled to Pakistan via the Wagah-Attari border in July with a visa, converted to Islam, changed her name to Fatima after getting married to Nasrullah, whom she had befriended on Facebook four years ago.
Anju's Indian husband Arvind had said that she left home on the pretext of going to Jaipur but later the family came to know that she was in Pakistan.
Anju, along with her Indian husband, used to live in the Bhiwadi area of Rajasthan.
She hails from Kailor village in Uttar Pradesh.
On Wednesday, Bhiwadi's Additional Superintendent of Police Dilip Saini said they had no information about the return of Anju.
Police sources said that Arvind no longer resides in Bhiwadi and has relocated to somewhere with their children.

The EU's&nbsp;Digital Markets Act is aimed at reining the power of big tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Apple.

The European Union has unveiled its biggest ever legislative effort to curtail the power of &lsquo;big tech&rsquo; companies like Apple, Facebook, and Google. The Digital Markets Act, or DMA, is aimed at reining in US-based tech companies, and encouraging competition from smaller companies.
The DMA will force companies that it deems as &lsquo;gatekeepers&rsquo; to perform new obligations. The act defines &lsquo;gatekeepers&rsquo; as companies with a market cap of at least &euro;75 billion and at least 45 million monthly users. This only applies to &lsquo;platforms&rsquo; like apps or social networks. If the companies flout these obligations, they could be faced with extremely steep fines, up to 20% of total worldwide turnover.

<h2>Digital Markets Act</h2>
In part, the act targets messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and iMessage, which according to the EU must open up to interoperability with other messaging apps. There&rsquo;s also a requirement for users to be able to freely choose their browser, virtual assistants or search engines.
The DMA has yet to be tabled, or approved by the EU Parliament and Council. The EU&rsquo;s Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager, said that she expects the act to come into force sometime in October. She told The Verge that the act aims to make the tech sector more open and accessible.
