<p>&lsquo;Boy Meets World&rsquo; star Danielle Fishel has shocked fans and revealed her breast cancer diagnosis. The actor shared the news on the latest episode of her &lsquo;Pod Meets World&rsquo; podcast. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Fishel assured her fans that the diagnosis happened at a very early stage and it&rsquo;s technically stage zero. A mother of two, Fishel sounded positive about her diagnosis and &nbsp;informed the fans that she will undergo surgery to remove it and she is going to be fine. &ldquo;I was diagnosed with high grade DCIS with micro invasion. And I'm going to be fine, I'm having surgery to remove it,&rdquo; she said. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Danielle Fishel also revealed why she decided to share the news with everyone and said that she hoped that it will encourage others. She said, &ldquo;My first instinct when I was diagnosed was to do that clam up thing &hellip; and then what I realized is the more people I talk to, the more people have their own experiences.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The 43-year-old actor rose to fame with her role in the popular sitcom &lsquo;Boy Meets World&rsquo;. Later, she also reprised her role in &lsquo;Girl Meets World&rsquo;, a spinoff of the show. &nbsp;</p>

<p>In a sad round of news coming from the entertainment and fashion industry, former Miss India Tripura 2017 Rinky Chakma has passed away at the young age of 28. The diva fought bravely with the rare form of cancer for two years but succumbed to the disease. She was suffering from malignant phyllodes and was admitted to the hospital on February 22 after one of her lungs almost stopped functioning.</p>
<p>Let us learn more about this disease that is on the rise.</p>
<h3><strong>What is malignant phyllodes?</strong></h3>
<p>Rinky was suffering from a rare type of breast tumor that originates in the connective tissue (stroma) of the breast. Malignant phyllodes tumor is also known as malignant cystosarcoma phyllodes.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This tumour can happen at any age but is more common in women over 40. According to breastcancer.org, women with Li-Fraumeni syndrome have a higher risk of developing phyllodes tumours.</p>
<p>It is an uncommon aggressive breast tumor that arises from the stromal tissue and grow quite fast and can often stretch the skin. While most of the phyllodes tumours are usually firm and painless, some may hurt.</p>
<h3><strong>How to identify malignant phyllodes?</strong></h3>
<p>Medical experts will make individuals undergo a thorough physical examination, including breast palpation. Mammography and ultrasound can provide initial insights, however MRI's are the most effective.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Your medical expert may also ask you to undergo a surgical biopsy is essential for definitive diagnosis.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The few available treatment options are surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy ( reserved for cases with distant metastasis). Participation in clinical trials may be considered for patients with recurrent or metastatic MPT.</p>
<p>The Miss India winner had taken to Instagram and spoken about her journey, &ldquo;I was diagnosed with Malignant phyllodes tumor (breast cancer in 2022). After I had my first surgery, it metastasized into my lungs and now in my head (brain tumor). My brain surgery is still pending as it&rsquo;s already widespread all my right side of my body till my lungs, and it will only be possible if I heal with chemotherapy first with just 30% hope."</p>

<p>Many women across the world use oral contraceptives to avoid unwanted pregnancies. However, a recent study released by the<em> University of Oxford</em> reportedly established the link between the usage of progestogen and the increased risk of breast cancer.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The study was published in <em>PLOS Medicine</em> based on data from 9,498 women who developed breast cancer in the age group of the 20s and 40s.&nbsp;<br>After the usage of oral contraceptives for 5 years it was found that almost 8 in every 100,000 women in the age group of 16 to 20 and 265 in every 100,000 aged between 35 to 39 were found to have developed breast cancer.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Most contraceptive pills contain oestrogen and progestogen, which are responsible for increasing the risk of breast cancer by 20-30 per cent among users.</p>

<p>According to a new study,<em>&nbsp;</em>researchers have found a link between women who consume pro-inflammatory foods and the increased risk of breast cancer.</p>

<p>As per a study presented at <em>Nutrition 2021 Live Online, </em>researchers have found a link between women who consume pro-inflammatory foods and the increased risk of breast cancer.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The results of the study are based on the data collected from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC). Around 3,18,686 women were observed for 14 years and out of this 13,246 cases of breast cancer were recorded. The dietary inflammatory potential was established by taking into consideration the inflammatory source of the diet (ISD).&nbsp;</p>
<p>The study found a 12 percent increase&nbsp;in the risk of breast cancer amongst women who incorporated foods that increase inflammation in the body as compared to the ones who don't. There was an even greater risk amongst premenopausal women.</p>
<h4>Pro-inflammatory food items</h4>
<p>Foods such as&nbsp;red and processed meat, butter, margarine&nbsp;and sweets containing&nbsp;sugar result in an increase in inflammation.</p>

The risk of catching the virus in diabetics isn't higher than anyone else but they could face severe health issues if they get sick and if their diabetes isn't well-controlled.</p>
<p>To reduce the chance of getting infected, people with diabetes should strictly practice social distancing, maintain good hygiene, always wear masks in public and try to keep their blood sugar under control as it weakens the immune system and makes it difficult to fight off infections. Here are some more precautions diabetics must follow.</p>
<p>1. Make sure you eat properly and stay hydrated. You need the right amount of carbs to maintain healthy blood sugar levels throughout the day.</p>

<p>There are two elements to this discussion. One for Cancer survivors and the other for those undergoing cancer treatment. For Cancer survivors, it is best recommended that they take the vaccine as they are already on the path to recovery.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Patients who have undergone cancer surgery</p>
<p>Such patients should consult their doctors before getting vaccinated. One&rsquo;s type of cancer and treatment determines the risk factors, benefits, timelines and what one should know before receiving the first dose.</p>
<p>Patients receiving chemotherapy</p>
<p>Patients undergoing treatments such as Chemotherapy and Radiation should go for Covid vaccination after taking a gap of 5-7 days from their last session. It is important to take the vaccine at a time when your white blood count (WBC) and blood platelets are not low. Therefore, a Complete Blood Count (CBC) needs to be done before getting vaccinated.<br /><br /></p>
<p>Patients with leukaemia</p>
<p>It is recommended that patients with leukaemia should delay vaccination until after the completion of chemotherapy treatments such as induction therapy which is given for acute leukaemia. Also, they must consult their doctor before getting vaccinated.</p>
<p>Patients undergoing stem cell therapy</p>
<p>Patients who are within three months of an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant, Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant or CART Cell Therapy, should go for vaccination after consultation&nbsp;with their doctor. In addition, those with severe Graft versus Host Disease (GvHD) and those with low B-cell counts should discuss with their provider whether vaccination should be delayed.</p>
<p>Patients who have undergone breast cancer surgery</p>
<p>Vaccination is usually given on the left shoulder but if a person has undergone left breast removal, the vaccination should be taken on the right shoulder. If both breasts have been removed, then the vaccine shot should be either taken on the thigh or the hips.</p>

Gujarat-based pharma giant Zydus Cadila has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market Fulvestrant injection, used in the treatment of breast cancer.
Zydus Cadila said this injection is either used alone or in combination with other drugs to treat certain types of advanced breast cancer cases.Zydus will now market the jab as 250 mg/5 mL or 50 mg/mL as a single-dose in pre-filled syringes.
The injection will be used in breast cancer cases where tumours are dependant on hormones such as estrogen to grow, or in cases where the breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body in women who are post-menopausal.

This injection will be manufactured at Zydus Cadila's formulation manufacturing facility at Zydus Biologics, Ahmedabad.

<p>Zydus Cadila has received final approval from US Food and Drug Administration to market Fulvestrant Injection. This injection is used in the treatment of breast cancer.</p>

<p>Gujarat-based pharma giant Zydus Cadila has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market Fulvestrant injection, used in the treatment of breast cancer.</p>
<p>Zydus Cadila said this injection is either used alone or in combination with other drugs to treat certain types of advanced breast cancer cases.<br />Zydus will now market the jab as 250 mg/5 mL or 50 mg/mL as a single-dose in pre-filled syringes.</p>
<p>The injection will be used in breast cancer cases where tumours are dependant on hormones such as estrogen to grow, or in cases where the breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body in women who are post-menopausal.</p>

<p>This injection will be manufactured at Zydus Cadila's formulation manufacturing facility at Zydus Biologics, Ahmedabad.</p>

Breast cancer is now the most common form of cancer, globally as it has surpassed lung cancer, the World Health Organisation said on Tuesday.
Lung cancer was the most common form of the disease for the past two decades, but is at the second place and is followed by colorectal cancer which is third most common cancer, a cancer special at the WHO said.
The report further added that obesity among women was a common risk factor in breast cancer and seemed to drive overall numbers. Approximately 2.3 million new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed last year.
Cancer numbers are estimated to grow with the rise in life expectancy and global population, from 19.3 million cases a year in 2020 to 30 million new cases a year in 2040, the report noted. The team found the gene TRIM37 responsible for the cancer to spread in the body and resist treatment by chemotherapy.
The team is in the process of testing a new therapy in mouse models that could potentially target the gene and prevent the spread of the disease by using&nbsp;nanoparticles to block the gene. The approach, though in early stages, has offered positive results.

According to a study conducted by scientists from Harvard University, eating processed meat like bacon and sausages may increase the risk of breast cancer.  The study, published in the International Journal of Cancer, showcased that women who ate processed meat were at a 9% greater risk of breast cancer than others. However, the review, which is based on a number of studies including data from more than a million women, has some limitations as the definition of 'high consumption' differs.
