Navy forensic doctor Jose de Jesus Zalce Benitez reaffirmed Maussan&rsquo;s statements from the Mexico parliament last week. &ldquo;I can affirm that these bodies have no relation to human beings,&rdquo; he said.
Journalist Jos&eacute; Jaime Maussan presented two boxes with supposed mummies found in Peru, which he and others consider "non-human beings that are not part of our terrestrial evolution."
The session, unprecedented in the Mexican Congress, took place two months after a similar one before the US Congress in which a former US Air Force intelligence officer claimed his country has probably been aware of "non-human" activity since the 1930s.
The shrivelled bodies with shrunken, warped heads left those in the chamber aghast and quickly kicked up a social media fervour.

Maussan testified that the specimens were &ldquo;not part of our terrestrial evolution&rdquo; and were not discovered from a UFO wreckage.&nbsp;
Why should we believe it?
Maussan&rsquo;s claims may seem unbelievable at first. However, the Mexcian journalist was testifying before the nation&rsquo;s Congress and would risk perjury if he lied. Moreover, the Congress session was reportedly attended and co-hosted by other reputed scientists, including the Executive Director of Americans for Safe Aerospace.
Maussan also assured the parliamentarians that his findings were peer-reviewed. He claimed that the Autonomous National University of Mexico had studied the specimens after their discovery in 2017 and was able to draw DNA using the process of radiocarbon dating.
And why should we not?
Mausaan&rsquo;s legitimacy as a UFO expert has been questioned before. In 2015, he claimed a mummy discovered in Peru was of an alien. However, the claims were deemed invalid after the fact-checking website Snopes.com said the remains were of a child.
The specimens displayed in the Mexican Congress seemed &ldquo;too humanoid to be believable,&rdquo; a social media user wrote. The lack of international reaction to the announcement has also been underwhelming.

Similar claims in the past
This is not the first time that claims of the existence of aliens have been covered up by governments. An American whistleblower came forward with similar claims in July this year.&nbsp;
Former Air Force intelligence officer Major David Grusch testified before the US Congress and said that Washington is concealing a longstanding program that retrieves and reverse engineers unidentified flying objects.
The US Department of Defense was quick to nix Grusch&rsquo;s claims. A statement released by the Pentagon said there was no &ldquo;verifiable information to substantiate the claims.&rdquo;

Through the post, NASA informed the users “The Martian crater marks the spot. You’re looking at 0° longitude on Mars, the Greenwich Observatory equivalent on the Red Planet." Since the post was shared on instagram, it has gained 4lakhs likes. People responded to the post in different ways, one wrote in the comment "looks like alien footprints on mars."
NASA explained that the Airy Crater, which has been seen as the larger crater originally defined as zero longitudes for Mars. However, as higher resolution photos became available, a smaller feature was needed. This crater, called Airy-0 (zero) was selected because it did not need to adjust existing maps.
