Aliens or secret tech? 2 years after US Navy confirmed leaked UFO videos, congressional hearing on UAVs

Two years after the US military confirmed that these UFO videos were shot by its pilots, a subcommittee of the US House of Representatives is set to hold an open hearing on these unexplained phenomena, as per the New York Times.

Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs, also called unidentified aerial vehicles, or UAVs, are speculated by some conspiracy theorists to be alien ships.

The 3 videos released in 2020 showed aerial objects flying at amazing speeds through the sky, and even rotating against the wind. Navy pilots who witnessed the incidents were left shocked, confused, and awed.

The upcoming congressional hearing comes nearly a year after the release of a government report on "unidentified aerial phenomena". The report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence focused on 144 incidents of UFO sightings, but was only able to explain one.

However, the interesting conclusion was that the objects were neither secret US technology, nor part of a "foreign collection program" or "major technological advancement by a potential adversary" according to available data.

The hearing next week will be the first open congressional hearing on UAVs in over 50 years. The House Intelligence Committee’s subcommittee on counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and counterproliferation will receive testimonies from two top defence intelligence officials.
