The Begumpet airport in the city on Wednesday received a bomb threat via email, which turned out to be a hoax, police said.
The airport authorities received the email on Wednesday morning, and thorough checks were conducted at the premises by the bomb disposal squad and other security wings.
Fire service was also deployed during the checks, police said, adding that the bomb threat was found to be a hoax.
Further investigation was underway.
The airport at Begumpet in the heart of the city is not used for passenger services, and only VIP aircraft are operated from the facility.
Meanwhile, a bomb threat mail targeting a Qatar Airways cargo flight was received at the RGI airport on city outskirts on Wednesday, which was found to be hoax after thorough checks.
The email claimed the presence of a human bomb in the cargo flight and the threat turned out to be a hoax, police said.
The mail was sent to the customer care id of the airport in the morning and all procedures were followed as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), airport sources said.
As per the SOP, an emergency was declared in the airport, fire and security teams were put on standby till the aircraft landed safely and a temporary bomb threat assessment committee (comprising representatives of airport security, police and others) was also formed.
The aircraft landed safely and it was taken to an isolation bay and thorough checks were carried out, they said.

Delhi airport operator DIAL on Friday said 114 flights, accounting for 7.5 per cent of the total daily flights, will be cancelled for three months starting from June 15 due to the closure of a runway for upgradation works.
The upgradation works of the runway RW 10/28, that was postponed in May after congestion issues, will now be carried out from June 15 to September 15. The Instrument Landing System (ILS) will be upgraded to make the runway CAT III compliant, which will allow flight operations at low visibility conditions during the fog season.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the country's largest and busiest airport, handles around 1,450 flight movements daily. It has four runways -- RW 09/27, RW 11R/29L, RW 11L/29R and RW 10/28 -- and two operational terminals -- T1 and T3. T2 is currently closed for maintenance works.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar on Friday said RW 10/28 is not going to be operational, effective June 15, for three months.
"...we want to upgrade that runway to mitigate any issues or problems that we were facing, especially during the fog season. So for RW 10/28, there are two upgrades that we are going to do," he said at a press conference here.
According to him, the average reduction in daily flights during the three-month period will be around 7.5 per cent, and passengers are being informed about the changes well in advance.
"So, the (number of) flights which are going to be cancelled are about 114. If you look at it from the right perspective, we have got 1,450 operations (flight movements) in a day. Out of that, about 114 operations (flight movements) are going to be impacted, which is 7.5 per cent," he said.
As per DIAL, a total of 200 flights will be impacted -- 114 will be cancelled and the remaining 86 will be rescheduled from the peak to non-peak hours -- during the June 15-September 15 period.
While the runway will resume operations from September 15, the completion of the ILS upgrade will be done by November 27, just before the start of the fog season, Jaipuriar said.
DIAL CEO emphasised that rescheduling and cancellation of flights are not going to have a major impact, especially since passengers are being informed in advance.
Efforts have been made to ensure a balanced approach to maintain operational stability and minimise disruptions during the closure of RW 28/10, he added.
Against the backdrop of certain earlier instances of airlines and the airport operator having differences amid congestion woes, DIAL on Friday stressed that the slot adjustment process was carried out through close coordination among all the stakeholders.
Representatives of various airlines were also present at the press conference.
Earlier, the RW 10/28 upgradation was planned in April-May this year, and was closed for ILS upgradation on April 8. However, the closure of the runway, easterly winds and &nbsp;congestion impacted flight operations.
In view of the same, the civil aviation ministry directed resumption of operations from RW 10/28 and postponement of runway works from June 15 to September 15. The revised upgradation schedule was also agreed to by the airlines, DIAL said.
DIAL is majority owned by GMR Airports.

The airport recorded a total of over 4.32 million passengers, marking a remarkable 32% year-on-year increase. In addition to this, international air traffic also witnessed robust growth, with over 1.1 million passengers, representing a 33% increase compared to the previous year.
August saw a total of 20,711 domestic flights and 6,960 international flights at the airport. Among the domestic destinations, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai emerged as the top choices for travelers. On the international front, Dubai, London, and Abu Dhabi were the preferred destinations from Mumbai International Airport.
Notable growth in passenger traffic was observed for various international destinations, with Munich experiencing a remarkable 150% increase, followed by Hanoi with 138%, and Istanbul with a 110% rise. Nairobi and Ho Chi Minh also witnessed substantial growth, recording 99% and 96% increases in passenger traffic, respectively, as compared to August 2022.
The airport averaged a daily passenger count of 139,661 throughout the month. In the domestic sector, IndiGo dominated with a 48% market share, followed by Air India at 18% and Vistara at 17%. In the international segment, IndiGo secured a 22% market share, with Air India at 14% and Vistara at 10%.
In terms of cargo, the airport registered a 6% growth in air cargo tonnage, comprising a 3% increase in domestic cargo tonnage and an 8% rise in international cargo tonnage for the month of August 2023.

A small aircraft with six passengers and two crew members on board veered off the runway at the Mumbai airport on Thursday amid heavy rains, sources said.
No casualty has been reported as of now, they said.
The Learjet 45 aircraft VT-DBL belonging to VSR Ventures was operating a flight from Vishakhapatnam to Mumbai, according to the sources.
"On 14.09.2023, VSR Ventures Learjet 45 aircraft VT-DBL operating flight from Vizag to Mumbai was involved in runway excursion (veer off) while landing on runway 27 at Mumbai airport," one of the sources said.
There were six passengers and two crew members on board, as per the source.
The visibility at the time of the incident was 700 metres amid heavy rains.
Both runways at the Mumbai Airport are now shut for operations, the sources said.

A full emergency was declared at the International Airport on Friday after a Dammam-bound flight from Calicut was diverted to the state capital due to suspected hydraulic failure.
The fight landed at the airport at 12.15 PM, according to airport sources.
The sources said the tail part of the Air-India Express IX 385, carrying 182 passengers, hit the runway during take-off from the Calicut international Airport in the morning.
The flight landed at the airport after dumping fuel over the Arabian Sea to facilitate safe landing, the sources told PTI.
The airport management declared a full emergency.

The plane was then directed to an airport 450 kms away from the initial destination but on not finding sufficient accommodation and transportation for over 300 passengers there, the pilots took to the skies again in the early hours of February 20 and landed back at Haneda airport, almost 7 hours after the plane took-off from there.
Later, the passengers were reportedly offered a replacement flight by the airline, which also paid for their hotels and taxis.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs New York's major airports, said it was working to accommodate affected flights at other terminals. Some planes were forced to return to their points of origin.
An Air New Zealand flight was two-thirds of the way across the Pacific Ocean when it had to make a U-turn and head back to Auckland. The flight landed back in New Zealand after more than 16 hours in the air.

In a bizarre incident, a couple abandoned their baby at an airport check-in counter after arriving without a ticket for the little one.
According to CNN, the January 31 incident took place at Israel's Tel Aviv airport.&nbsp;
The couple frantically headed-off to board the flight for Brussels, leaving their child at the check-in counter, an airport official told CNN.
Israeli Airport Authority also confirmed the development saying that the infant was left behind by the couple in the hurry to reach the boarding gate. It added that the couple had arrived late at the airport and check-ins were closed too. So they ran towards the boarding gate and left their child.
This was followed by the check-in agent at the airport chasing the passengers, an official told CNN
The baby was later united with the parents and there is no further investigation in the matter, the CNN report added.
