WhatsApp testing "approve new participants" feature for group admins

WhatsApp's new upcoming feature will allow group admins to better regulate spam.

WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that allows group admins to approve or reject new participants before joining.

The new feature adds an additional layer of control over who is admitted to a group via an administrator toggle. It has been designed to reduce the number of spam and unwanted group joins generated from group links.

At present, the feature is being tested among select beta users accessing WhatsApp on both Android and iOS.
