WhatsApp chat transfer from iOS comes to more Android phones: how to transfer WhatsApp chats

Users of new Google Pixel phones will now be able to transfer their WhatsApp chat history from iOS devices, as the feature has rolled out to the Pixel series. Earlier, transfer of chat history from iOS to Android was only available on certain Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

Furthermore, Google said in a blog post that the chat history transfer feature would soon roll out to more Android phones, and would be available on every smartphone that comes with Android 12 out of the box. Users will need a Lightning to Type-C cable to utilise the chat history transfer feature.

In order to transfer chats from iOS to Android, users will first need to connect the two phones using the Lightning to Type-C cable. Then, they would need to scan a QR code on the iPhone to transfer their chat history and media to an Android device. If the QR code is unable to be scanned, the feature can still be accessed by heading to WhatsApp Settings, then selecting Chats, and then Move Chats to Android.

Earlier this week, tech blog WABetaInfo reported that business chats in WhatsApp would soon be getting a message rating feature. With this, users will be able to give feedback to business accounts by rating their messages from one star to five stars. However, this feedback is only applicable to the message in question, and does not apply to the business as a whole.
