Twitter to soon introduce tweets of up to 10,000 characters

Twitter Blue subscribers will soon have the option of writing much longer tweets.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has revealed that the microblogging platform will soon allow longer messages of up to 10,000 characters. This functionality will only be available to Blue subscribers.

Non-subscribers can still read, comment, retweet, and quote these tweets, though.

Tweets were previously limited to 280 characters, which still applies to non-subscribers. The 280-character restriction was an improvement over Twitter's original limit of 140 characters, which was its distinguishing feature.

In India, a monthly membership to Twitter Blue costs ₹900 via the mobile app and ₹650 using a web browser.
