Sony A7 IV launched in India with 33MP full-frame sensor: check price and specs

The Sony A7 IV mirrorless camera has been launched in India, having been launched globally in October 2021. The new camera succeeds the A7 III, the brand's popular entry-level full-frame camera from 2018.

In terms of upgrades, the A7 IV features a new 33MP full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor , with an ISO sensitivity range of 50-204,800 and a dynamic range of 15 stops. The new sensor has been paired with the latest generation BIONZ XR image processor, that's also featured in the flagship Sony Alpha 1 camera. It allows 10 fps continuous shooting on the A7 IV, with AF/AE tracking. Meanwhile, the autofocus system uses 759 phase-detection AF points with real-time tracking of objects, along with Eye AF for tracking animals in both stills and video.

Apart from this, the A7 IV can shoot 4K video at 60fps, but only in Super 35mm mode. However, it can record videos in full 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling. The A7 IV also supports S-Cinetone picture profile that's usually found in Sony's cinema cameras.

Unlike the previous Sony A7 III, the A7 IV gets a fully articulating display, and the dual card slots have been updated, with one slot for SD and another for either SD or CFexpress Type A cards. Moreover, a full-size HDMI port has been added on the side for external recording and monitoring.

The Sony A7 IV has been priced at ₹2,42,490 for the body only, and ₹2,62,490 for the camera along with a 28-70mm zoom lens. The Sony A7 IV is available to purchase from Sony's website and offline retail stores.
