Samsung to supply 80 million OLED panels for iPhone 14

Samsung Display has been supplying iPhone screens to Apple since 2017.

Samsung to supply 80 million OLED panels for iPhone 14

According to a new report, Samsung Display would supply up to 80 million OLED screens for the iPhone 14 series.

The mass manufacturing and distribution of these Samsung Display panels are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of this year.

BOE is rumoured to be competing with Samsung Display to produce OLED panels for the iPhone 14 variants. It is believed that the South Korean business will produce more than its Chinese rival. Moreover, there are apparently possibilities that BOE would lose the contract this time owing to design modification issues.

There are reports that Apple will release four new iPhone 14 variants with various display specifications. Samsung Display will supply LTPO and LTPS displays to Apple.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are said to feature screens of 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are said to feature the same screen sizes as the current Pro versions, although with some display-level enhancements for a greater user experience.

Samsung Display has supplied Apple with OLED displays since the introduction of the iPhone X in 2017. It is also said to have delivered the most number of displays this year due to the increasing demand for iPhones.

Samsung Display reportedly collaborates with Duksan Neolux, Solus Advanced Materials, and Samsung SDI to mass produce and distribute its OLED screens.
