Realme Buds Air 6 Quick Review: Budget Buds with Wallet-Friendly Price; Check price, specs

Realme India has just launched its latest wireless earbuds, the Realme Buds Air 6, alongside the new Realme GT 6T flagship smartphone and Realme Buds Wireless 3 Neo. Priced at ₹2,999 (introductory offer), these affordable earbuds come packed with features including 50dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), 6-mic Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), and a 12.4mm Deep Bass Driver.

We had the opportunity to try out the Realme Buds Air 6, and here are our hands-on impressions of Realme's newest offering.

Realme Buds Air 6 Design and Build

The Realme Buds Air 6 closely resemble their predecessors, the Realme Buds Air 5, with the same oval-shaped and stem design. They also boast an IP55 water-resistant rating. We have the Flame Silver color, which looks sleek, but there is also a stunning Forest Green variant. These earbuds feature a dual-tone design with a matte outer surface and a glossy inner finish. They are lightweight, easy to carry, and offer IP55 rating for dust and water protection.

The earbuds also have a pairing/reset button at the bottom and a USB Type-C port that supports a 10-minute quick charge. The front side features the Realme logo and an LED indicator that displays battery, charging, and pairing status. The design and build quality of the Buds Air6 appear robust and user-friendly.

Realme Buds Air 6 Specifications, Features & Performance

Equipped with a 12.4mm Mega Titanizing Driver with Dynamic Bass Boost, the Realme Buds Air 6 delivers exceptional sound quality. The 50dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) effectively cuts off ambient noise, while the 6-mic Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) enhances call quality by suppressing ambient noise and echo.

The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity allows for dual device pairing and quick connections. The earbuds also support Hi-Res Audio with LDHC 5.0, ensuring high-quality sound.

Additionally, the Realme Link app provides access to various features like noise cancellation modes, equalizer settings, and gesture controls. The hardware and performance of the Buds Air6 are impressive, delivering high-quality audio and effective noise cancellation.

Noise Cancellation is offered in four degrees- mild for home and office settings, moderate for noisy places like streets and malls, max for very noisy places like airplanes and trains and a smart mode that automatically cancels noise based on your surroundings.

The EQ mode too is offered as a controllable feature in the Realme Link App. It offers 4 sound effects- Clear Vocals, Nature Balance, Clear Bass and Bass Boost. Additionally, you can custom equalise the audio according to your own tastes.

Realme Buds Air 6 Call Quality

The Realme Buds Air 6 features six microphones designed to enhance call quality significantly. Thanks to the Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) technology, the earbuds effectively suppress ambient noise and echo, ensuring clear communication. Whether you're on a call or gaming, the call quality remains decent and communication is smooth, making these earbuds a reliable choice for everyday use.

Realme Buds Air 6 Battery and Charging

The Realme Buds Air 6 offers up to 40 hours of total music playback without ANC and up to 10 hours for each earbud. With ANC on, the battery life reduces by about 30%. The earbuds come with a 58 mAh battery each, while the case houses a 460 mAh battery. The USB Type-C port allows for 10-minute quick charging, providing up to 7 hours of playback.

The earbuds take approximately 120 minutes to fully charge, and the buds alone can be charged to 100% in 50 minutes using the case. The battery performance of the Buds Air6 is commendable, providing long-lasting usage on a single charge.

Realme Buds Air 6 Price in India and Availability

The Realme Buds Air 6 is priced at ₹3,299 but will be available at an introductory offer of ₹2,999. Additionally, buyers of the Realme GT 6T can purchase the earbuds for ₹2,499. Given its feature set, including 50dB ANC, 6-mic ENC, Hi-Res Audio support, and long battery life, the Buds Air6 offers good value for money.
