The Redmi Note 13 series receives the Android 14 update later than most other major mid-range phones in 2024.

Xiaomi releases HyperOS update for Redmi Note 13 series in India

Xiaomi is rolling out its new HyperOS user interface, based on Android 14, to the Redmi Note 13 series in India.

This update comes three months after the Note 13 series launched in India.

HyperOS: Beyond mobile

HyperOS isn't just a mobile-centric update. Xiaomi claims it will encompass other products within their ecosystem, potentially including smart cars. This suggests an expanding focus on device interconnectivity.

Redmi Note 13 series gets HyperOS in India

The update is available for the following Redmi Note 13 models in India:

  1. Redmi Note 13
  2. Redmi Note 13 Pro
  3. Redmi Note 13 Pro+

These phones will benefit from a new user interface design and potentially greater compatibility with other Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi's update rollout strategy

Xiaomi has already upgraded its latest Xiaomi and Redmi phones to HyperOS, with plans to extend the update to older devices in the coming months.

Notably, the new Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra launched with HyperOS pre-installed.

The update rollout includes some surprising choices, such as the Mi 10 and Mi 11 Ultra, suggesting a shift in Xiaomi's update policy.

Previously, the company received criticism for slower updates on older devices.
