Tecno Phantom Ultimate rollable smartphone concept unveiled: check design, features and specs

The Tecno Phantom Ultimate offers a transformative rollable display, moving from 6.55 to 7.11 inches in seconds. Equipped with a high-res LTPO AMOLED screen, its thin design and innovative features remain conceptual.

Tecno Phantom Ultimate rollable smartphone concept unveiled: check design, features and specs

Tecno Phantom Ultimate, the tech brand's latest brainchild, has been announced as a groundbreaking rollable smartphone concept that is bound to pique the interest of tech enthusiasts around the globe.

This innovative concept device sets the stage for the future of rollable smartphones, showcasing a design that enables the display to seamlessly transform from a 6.55 inches compact size to a more spacious 7.11 inches within a remarkably short duration of 1.2 to 1.3 seconds.

Innovation at Its Core

At the heart of the Tecno Phantom Ultimate design lies a revolutionary single-drive motor system, activated by a discreet button located on the upper right side of the device. Once this button is engaged, the smartphone expands horizontally, whereas in its rolled state, it operates as a standard 6.55-inch smartphone. Additionally, an auxiliary screen situated on the back of the device serves as an 'Always-On Display.'

Tecno Phantom Ultimate Specifications

Delving into the Tecno Phantom Ultimate specs, the rollable smartphone is equipped with a 7.11-inch on-cell LTPO AMOLED panel, featuring a resolution of 2,296 x 1,596 pixels and a pixel density of 388 PPI. Although the assertion of 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage is noteworthy, confirming such figures remains a daunting task for a concept device.

Despite its advanced features, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate maintains a sleek profile, with a thickness of 9.93 mm at its base.

Conceptual Status

Unfortunately, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate currently only exists as a captivating concept device, with no clear indication of its eventual market launch. The domain of rollable smartphones encompasses complex technological challenges that need to be resolved before these devices can gain mainstream acceptance.

A Glimpse into the Future

Tecno has once again showcased its innovative prowess with the introduction of the Phantom Ultimate straight from its R&D labs. This impressive rollable smartphone concept marks Tecno's second concept device following the Vision V, albeit without the folding mechanism.

It is evident that the Tecno Phantom Ultimate represents a significant step towards the future of rollable smartphones.

Wrap Up:

The Tecno Phantom Ultimate symbolises a monumental leap in smartphone technology. Despite its current status as a concept device, it provides a tantalising glimpse into the future of rollable smartphones, highlighting the innovative direction that Tecno, and potentially the broader smartphone industry, is headed towards.
