The latest addition to Sony's smartphone lineup, the Sony Xperia 5 V, was recently revealed during an online event.

This device comes with several notable upgrades over its predecessor, including a 6.1-inch 21:9 FHD+ HDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch scanning rate, and is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM.

Innovative Camera Technology

One of the most remarkable features of the Sony Xperia 5 V is its camera. It houses a 52MP "Exmor T for mobile" sensor, despite having only dual rear cameras. These cameras allow for shooting at three different focal lengths - 16mm, 24mm, and 48mm. The 48mm lens provides a 2x optical focal length, enabling users to capture larger subjects without compromising on image quality.

Additionally, the Sony Xperia 5 V camera comes with S-Cinetone, a feature popular among cinematographers, and a Creative Look, also found in Sony's Alpha series cameras. Moreover, it includes high-performance real-time AF (auto focus).

Enhanced Audio and Build Quality

The device also boasts Full-Stage stereo speakers, Sony Xperia 5 V features Sony's own 360 Reality Audio, and has Dolby Atmos sound, tuned in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In terms of build, it has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on both front and back, as well as IP65/68 ratings for dust and water resistance.

It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 5000mAh Sony Xperia 5 V battery with support for fast charging and Qi wireless charging.

The Sony Xperia 5 V price is set at at 999 Euros (USD 1,085 / Rs. 89,670 approx). The Sony Xperia 5 V release date is set for late September. Additionally, an exclusive Sony Xperia 5 V launch bundle, including the WH-CH720N headphones, will be available across major UK retailers for those who purchase the phone between 28th September – 26th October 2023.

The smartphone will be available in three colors: Black, Blue, and Platinum Silver. There is currently no word on Sony Xperia 5 V India launch date
