Samsung made a splash at Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024) with a daring concept: a bendable phone designed to be worn on the wrist. Dubbed the Samsung OLED Cling Band, this device hints at the possibilities of flexible screen technology.

The Wrist Phone Concept

The OLED Cling Band brings a 6.9-inch screen directly to your wrist, eliminating the need for external bands like those seen in Motorola's similar concept. Samsung's interface adapts fluidly to the degree of bending, ensuring access to all features regardless of the device's shape.

The OLED Cling Band distinguishes itself by including a rear camera, loudspeaker, and USB Type-C port. Its bend-and-wear design activates a heart rate sensor, suggesting potential as a fitness tracker.

Practical Considerations

While the wrist phone concept is intriguing, its practicality faces limitations. Extended wear could prove uncomfortable due to the weight exceeding typical smartwatches.
