Samsung S23 Ultra Flipkart price error: Orders cancelled, Rs 2000 gift card offered as compensation

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra experienced an unexpected drop in price on Flipkart, sparking widespread attention on social media. Initially perceived as a highly attractive offer, this incident turned out to be a pricing error, leading to a mix-up and the eventual order cancellation by Flipkart.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Unexpected Price Drop and Error

Reports emerged that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was listed on Flipkart at an exceptionally low price of Rs 75,000 in India. This reduction was not a part of any significant sales event and was later identified as a Flipkart price glitch. The model in question was the 256GB variant of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, initially priced at Rs 99,999 before the incorrect discount was applied.

Cancellation of Discounted Orders

Following this, Flipkart began cancelling orders that were placed at this discounted rate. Customers who had availed of the offer received notifications about the cancellations. Flipkart explained that the reduced price was due to a mistake in the listing by the seller, not an intentional discount offer.

Customer Compensation Efforts

As a compensatory measure, Flipkart offered affected customers a Rs 2,000 gift card. They also assured that any payments made would be refunded. This move aimed to alleviate the dissatisfaction among customers caused by the error orders cancelled.

Market Context and Future Launches

Despite being a year old, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is still a flagship model for Samsung, and such a significant price drop is rare. Attention is now shifting towards Samsung's anticipated launch of the Galaxy S24 series, which will include the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, slated to be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event on January 17th.
