The Redmi 12 5G will launch in India on August 1, and it is expected to be a value for money offering from the Xiaomi sub-brand.

Redmi, the popular smartphone brand, is gearing up to launch its latest budget offering, the Redmi 12 5G, in India on August 1st alongside the Xiaomi TV X series.

The company has been actively teasing the device on social media platforms, building anticipation among tech enthusiasts. Noted tipster Abhishek Yadav has leaked the price, storage options, and even shared hands-on images of the upcoming phone.

According to Abhishek Yadav's tweet, the Redmi 12 5G will be available in two variants: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.

The base variant is expected to be priced at ₹9,999, while the top-end model may cost ₹13,999, offering great value for money.

Redmi 12 5G Specifications

Design and Display: Live images shared by Abhishek Yadav provide a glimpse into the Redmi 12 5G's design. The smartphone features a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, providing a smooth and immersive viewing experience.

It boasts a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera positioned at the center, along with minimal bezels. The rear side sports a gradient design, housing triple cameras and an LED flash. The volume rocker and power button are expected to be located on the right edge.

Powerful Performance: Under the hood, the Redmi 12 5G is rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 12nm processor, offering a seamless user experience with its performance capabilities.

Storage Options: It is expected to come with a choice of 4GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM options and ample storage options of 128GB or 256GB. Users can further expand the storage via a microSD card.

Camera: The Redmi 12 5G is anticipated to feature a versatile camera setup. On the rear, it is rumored to house a 50MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.8, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor to capture detailed close-up shots.

Battery: For selfies and video chats, the device is expected to sport an 8MP front-facing camera. To keep the phone powered throughout the day, Redmi has equipped it with a robust 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Connectivity and Software: Connectivity options on the Redmi 12 5G are likely to include 5G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The phone is expected to run on Android 13-based MIUI 14 skin, providing users with the latest software features and enhancements.
