Apple's new patent promises scratch-resistant iPhones: No more cases needed!

This patent opens up exciting possibilities for future iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. The patent's noteworthy feature is the use of multiple materials for the device chassis, primarily focusing on metal and ceramic but with potential applications for other materials.

The patent showcases Apple's innovative development of a moldable matrix that incorporates abrasion-resistant components, which are harder than the surrounding materials. A diagram accompanying the patent illustrates a regular pattern of almost imperceptible tiny beads, with an average spacing of 10 to 100 microns. Importantly, the areas where the Apple logo and camera are situated would remain free from abrasion-resistant elements.
