Apple iPhone 16 series: Early leaks, rumours and insights

The Apple iPhone 15 series, having seen a recent launch, is still in the hands of many users.

However, with the tech community being forward-looking, anticipations around the successor, iPhone 16, have already begun.

Fresh leaks are suggesting some intriguing features for the 2024 iPhone models.

Anticipated Features and Upgrades

One of the notable revelations from the leaks is that Apple might finally introduce a 120Hz refresh rate for the basic iPhone 16 model.

Given that many current Android devices already support high refresh rates, this change could be in response to users' feedback about the existing 60Hz on iPhones.

Size-wise, the iPhone 16 Pro might flaunt a 6.3-inch screen, with the iPhone 16 Pro Max potentially going bigger at 6.9 inches.

However, those hoping for changes in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus screen sizes might have to keep their expectations in check as they're likely to remain consistent with their predecessors.

Innovations in Design and Camera

Solid-state buttons, although not part of the iPhone 15 Pro, are predicted to make an entry in the iPhone 16 Pro models, based on insights from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Further enhancing the camera specs, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to incorporate a "tetra-prism" telephoto camera, mirroring the design of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

This advancement would potentially elevate the optical zoom from 3x to a more detailed 5x.

Additionally, Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities anticipates a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera with superior low-light capabilities for the Pro series.

The camera layout might also see a switch back to a vertical alignment, straying away from the iPhone 15's diagonal arrangement.

Moreover, the Action Button, introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro, could possibly make its way into the iPhone 16 models.
