Meta Verified available in India: Here’s how to apply for it and how much it costs

You can now get a paid blue tick on Facebook and Instagram as Meta Verified is now available in India.

Meta Verified available in India: Here’s how to apply for it and how much it costs

Meta has officially launched its verification service in India, allowing users to get a blue tick beside their name on Facebook and Instagram for ₹699 per month.

To be verified, users must submit a government-issued ID and a selfie video. Meta will then verify the user's identity and, if approved, will add the verified badge to their profile.

The verification service is currently only available in India on Android and iOS. Web users can join a waitlist for the service here.

There are a few things to keep in mind about the Meta verification service. First, users must be at least 18 years old to be verified.

Second, a Meta Verified subscription does not apply to both Instagram and Facebook. So, in order to be verified on both platforms, users will need to subscribe to the service separately. This will cost ₹1,398 per month.

Finally, it's important to note that Meta Verified is not a guarantee that a user's account will be safe from scams or abuse. Meta will still investigate reports of abuse and take action against users who violate its policies.

How to apply for Meta Verified on Instagram:

  1. Open the Instagram mobile app.
  2. Go to your profile and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Accounts Center and then Meta Verified.
  4. If Meta Verified is available for your account, select the profile you want to verify and tap Confirm your identity.
  5. Upload a clear photo of your ID and a selfie video.
  6. Tap Submit.
