Meta's LLaMa AI language model leaks online

Meta's LLaMa AI language model has been leaked just a week after its official announcement.

Meta's AI language model, LLaMA, has reportedly leaked online.

However, the leaked LLaMA model is not a ready-to-talk chatbot and requires technical expertise and proper hardware to operate, making it inaccessible to the average internet user.

LLaMA has also not been fine-tuned for conversation like publicly accessible chatbots, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT or Microsoft's Bing.

Meta had intended to democratise access to AI and encourage research into its problems, but some cybersecurity researchers blame the company for distributing the technology too freely, while others argue that open access is necessary to develop safeguards for AI systems.
