GTA 6 price leak shocks gamers: Here is why

As if the long wait for GTA 6 wasn't enough, a new leak points towards a steep price hike as well!

GTA 6 price leak shocks gamers: Here is why

After much anticipation and numerous leaks, Rockstar Games has confirmed the forthcoming release of a trailer for the much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6).

However, the latest media reports suggest that the price of the eagerly awaited game is likely to hover around $150.

Rumours regarding a new pricing model have been squashed by Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick. Zelnick refuted the speculation of a subscription-based model charging players per hour during Take-Two's Q2 earnings call.

He argued that the entertainment value derived from video games justifies their pricing, drawing a comparison between the multiple hours of gameplay offered by predecessors like GTA 5 and comparatively short entertainment alternatives.

Expected Game Editions and Installation Requirements

The upcoming game, which carries a speculated budget between $1-2 billion, is rumoured to introduce three different editions with prices ranging from $69.99 to an alleged $199.99.

Speculations of a one-time payment model for these editions add fuel to the discussions. Uncertainties also extend to the game's technical aspects.

Unverified rumours discuss potentially massive installation requirements of 750 GB, promising an extensive 400-hour gameplay experience. At this juncture, these elements remain unconfirmed by Rockstar Games.

GTA 6 Release Date and Pre-orders

While Rockstar Games has taken the step to announce the arrival of the GTA 6 trailer next month, an official release date remains elusive.

The company is anticipated to kickstart the pre-order phase next year, setting the stage for a rumoured game release in late 2024 or early 2025.
