Google Pixel June feature drop: Check out the best features now

The new Google Pixel June feature drop is here after being delayed by a week, but it brings plenty of exciting updates to the Pixel family of devices This update includes new features as part of the feature drop and the latest platform optimizations, bug fixes, and June security patches.

The update targets not only Pixel smartphones, but also other Pixel devices such as the Pixel Watch and Fitbit. Eligible devices for the update include Pixel smartphone models 4a through 7a running Android 13. The bug fixes cover several areas such as device stability, connectivity, and performance, making for a smoother user experience.

Pixel owners will appreciate the extensive list of new features that the update includes. One of the standout features is the emergency sharing and safety check on Pixel smartphones, which allows you to pre-program your Google Assistant to send your location to your emergency contacts when you don't respond to a safety check.

Additionally, the camera app received some updates with Macro Focus now available for video on the Pixel 7 Pro. Pixel 6 and newer models will also let you take self-timed photos by raising your palm after setting the timer for 3 or 10 seconds.

Fans of productivity will be pleased with the update to the Pixel Recorder app, which can now export transcripts into Google Docs, create speaker-labeled video clips, and search for speakers in recordings. The Google Home app is also receiving an update that will let you access your favorite smart home devices from your Pixel lock screen.

The Pixel Watch is also getting some updates, including the ability to monitor your oxygen saturation (SpO2) while you sleep, with your heart rate being monitored 24/7. The watch will now notify you if your heart rate is abnormally high or low, and your exercise routine will automatically pause if you take a break before resuming when you begin again.

Fitbit devices also offer some improvements, such as a larger exercise mode list. All Fitbit smartwatches and trackers will now be able to show you your Daily Readiness score at a glance, and users can enjoy four new clock faces that can be switched from the Fitbit app.

The rollout of the update is ongoing and is available to eligible devices phased over time. Users can check to see if their devices are eligible for the update through the settings.
