The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are powered by the company's new Tensor G2 SoC which enables loads of new camera features.

Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launched in India

The Google Pixel 7 series and been launched globally and its price in India has also been revealed.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro price in India

The Pixel 7's starting price is ₹59,999 whereas the Pro model will start at ₹84,999.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro specifications

The new Tensor G2 chipset in the Pixel 7 series is made with Samsung's 4nm process. The CPU is still the same: 2x Cortex-X1 + 2x A76 and 4x A55, but the clock speed has been slightly increased.

The Mali-G710 MC10 GPU is more interesting. It promises to be faster and more efficient than the G78 for graphics and to give machine learning tasks a 35 percent boost. In addition, there is a new Tensor core and a new modem.

The next-generation Tensor processing unit can do tasks related to machine learning 60 percent faster and 20 percent better. It is responsible for features like Photo Unblur, which is only available on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. It uses Google's advanced AI to remove blur and noise from old photos taken with any old phone.

The Pro model phone has 12GB of RAM and comes with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. The phone doesn't have a microSD slot, but it does have a nano-SIM slot and an eSIM for a second line.

Next, let's take a look at the cameras. The main module on the Pixel 7 Pro still has a 50MP sensor. The field of view of this f/1.85 lens is 82°. If you want to get a better picture of the whole scene, you can use the 12MP ultra wide camera with a field of view of 125°. This year, the ultra wide lens now has autofocus, which makes it possible to take macro shots.

The main camera has both optical and electronic image stabilisation, and it can record 4K videos at 30 and 60 frames per second. You can now use the "speech enhancement" feature in 4K/60fps mode as well.

The phone can record 10-bit HDR video, and Google has worked with the makers of apps like Snapchat and TikTok to add support for the higher-quality videos. The machine learning skills of the Tensor G2 chipset are used by the camera app to create cinematic blur or to make handheld video even more stable.

The telephoto camera is exclusive to the Pro. It now has 5x optical zoom and 30x hybrid zoom.

The standard Pixel 7 also has a 50MP main camera and 12MP ultrawide camera like the Pro model. For zooming in, the phone uses its main sensor, which has a fairly high resolution, and Google's Super Res Zoom image processing, which has been improved thanks to the G2 chipset's extra processing power.

The Pixel 7 Pro has a 6.71-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ LTPO panel with a refresh rate that can range from 10 to 120Hz. The sides of the screen are not as curved as they were last year, but they still have Gorilla Glass Victus to protect them.

The standard Pixel 7 is a little bit smaller than the 6 because its screen is 6.3 inches instead of 6.4 inches. The phone is 155.6 x 73.2 x 8.7 mm and weighs 197 grams.

The screen is still a flat AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, but it is 25 percent brighter than the Pixel 6's display at its brightest point. The refresh rate of this new panel is still only 90Hz, though.
