The lawsuit, initiated by eleven consumers from different states, alleges that Apple failed to provide adequate repairs or troubleshooting assistance for the butterfly keyboards produced between 2015 and 2019. Apple has denied any wrongdoing. Eligible class members will receive compensation ranging from $50 to $395 based on the extent and nature of their keyboard repairs. With over 86,000 payment claims already submitted, the settlement aims to provide benefits to a significant number of individuals, despite objections raised about the adequacy of the compensation. Moreover, the court has granted a $15 million request for legal fees made by the plaintiffs' lawyers.
