Apple Scary Fast event 2023 highlights: MacBook Pro and iMac with M3 series chipsets launched

Apple's October 2023 "Scary Fast" event has just concluded.

2023 iMac official

A notable revelation was the refresh of the 24-inch iMac, now powered by the new M3 chip.

This iteration is proclaimed to be twice as fast as its M1 predecessor. The M3 chip boasts an eight-core CPU and a GPU configurable up to 10 cores, supporting up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.

Expected improvements include 30% faster running times for productivity apps and doubled processing speed for photo editing in Adobe Photoshop. Enhancements in Wi-Fi 6E support are also part of the package.

While the design remains unchanged, retaining the 11.5mm thin profile and the same color options, Apple has made strides in environmental responsibility.

The new iMac integrates more recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminum for the stand and recycled components for internal parts.

In India, the M3 iMac starts at ₹134900.

Apple M3 Event: MacBook Pro updated

Apart from the iMac, the event was also significant for the introduction of upgraded MacBook Pro models with M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max processors.

Retaining their previous design and port layout, these models now offer a new "space black" colour option. The M3 Pro features a 12-core CPU and an 18-core GPU, while the M3 Max escalates performance with a 16-core CPU and up to a 40-core GPU.

These chips emphasize graphics enhancements, particularly beneficial for gaming and professional applications.

In India, the M3 MacBook Pro 14-inch starts at ₹169900, while the 16-inch model starts at ₹249900.

Apple's focus on powerful performance coupled with an environmentally conscious design reflects their commitment to innovation and sustainability, marking another milestone in their journey of technological advancement.
